Karachi, March 25, 2021 (PPI-OT): Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Government of Sindh and Youth Parliament under the supervision of Youth Parliament Debate Council organized a three-day “Young Leaders Parliamentary Debate” on Asian Parliamentary Debate format. The first two days of YLPD were held at Indus University while the Grand Finale of Young Leaders Parliamentary Debate 2.0 and Pakistan Day Celebration was held on 23rd March 2021 at Marriott, Hotel, Karachi.
The event was graced by dignitaries from different codes of life including Ms. Naz Baloch (Member National Assembly – Pakistan Peoples Party), Ms. Rubina Qaimkhani (Leader – Pakistan Peoples Party), Mr. Syed Kumail Hyder Shah (Leader – Pakistan Peoples Party), Sardar Nazakat Ali (Leader – Pakistan Peoples Party), Mr. Qadir Khan Mandokhail (Leader – Pakistan Peoples Party), Shaikh Imtiaz Hussain (Managing Director – Imtiaz Enterprises), Mr. Nadeem Ahmed (CEO – Maaz Jee), Mr. Hanif Khan (Assistant Governor – Rotary International, District – 3271), Maulana Azad Jameel (Religious Scholar), Ms. Nargis Noorul Haq (Assistant Campus Manager – Indus University), Mr. Rehan Allahwala (Chairman – Insan Party), Mr. Shehzad Mobin (CEO – WalkEaze), Mr. Ahsan Mehnti (Managing Director – Arif Habib Commodities), Dr. Hanif Saeed (Director Marketing – Pakistan Skin Care Center) and Mr. Sonu Butt (Renowned Singer from USA).
Speaking at the ceremony Ms. Naz Baloch (Member National Assembly – Pakistan Peoples Party) said: “The youth of Pakistan needed a platform for proper guidance and mentorship which Youth Parliament is providing. It’s the nursery where future leaders are trained.”
Ms. Rubina Qaimkhani (Leader – Pakistan Peoples Party) said: “Youth Parliament is creating leaders for tomorrow. I appreciate the efforts of Rizwan Jaffar for engaging youth promoting their meaningful participation in the development of society.”
“Promotion of debate and public speaking is one of the best practices. Debating culture promote true representation of youth. You learn to analyze issues and come up with solutions, said Syed Kumail Hyder Shah.”
Chairman Youth Parliament Mr. Rizwan Jaffar said: “This is the second edition of Young Leaders Parliamentary Debate which Youth Parliament has organized to build confidence and self-esteem in youth. I congratulate and appreciate the efforts of Raheel Akhtar and Youth Parliament Debate Council for organizing such a vibrant three-day parliamentary debate event.”
Convener Youth Parliament Debate Council Mr. Raheel Akhtar said: “In Karachi we introduced Parliamentary Debate in 2014 first time to provide a platform to youth where they can exchange ideas, learn about democratic culture, diplomacy, national and international affairs, researching, public speaking, critical thinking, teamwork and leadership abilities.”
