University of Haripur organized a dignified function on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day February 05, 2021

Haripur, February 06, 2021 (PPI-OT): On May Feb. 5, 2021, the Haripur University organized a dignified function on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day 2021. In which Vice Chancellor Prof. Anwar Gilani, Registrar Dr. Shah Masood Khan, senior faculty, administrative officers and other employees and students of the university participated.

The ceremony started with the recitation from the Holy Quran by Treasurer Hafiz Kamran Khan. Addressing the function, the Vice Chancellor termed today and today’s functions across Pakistan as well as world over as very important for Pakistan and the Pakistani nation. He reiterated the principled stance of Pakistan on the Kashmir issue from the very first day of the crisis in 1947 to date and said that Kashmir is definitely the lifeline of Pakistan.

He further said that Kashmir issue has been controversial in the eyes of the United Nations since the partition of subcontinent and the United Nations has recognized the right of the Kashmiri people to determine their political future through free referendum, which, unfortunately, could not be materialized due to the stubbornness of India for the last 74 years, and the Muslim population of Occupied Kashmir is constantly under torture of the Indian Governments and forces.

Exact two years earlier, the Indian government revoked Article 35A and Article 70 from the Constitution of the country and abolished the special constitutional status of Occupied Kashmir, since then the whole of Occupied Kashmir has been in a continuous lockdown.

He said that Haripur University would hold various events for a week in a row, including essay and speech competitions, Memorandum of Understanding with Azad Jammu and Kashmir University, establishment of Kashmir Desk and an equally dignified closing ceremony.
