Lahore, August 10, 2018 (PPI-OT): Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore organized 2 days training workshop on “Outcome Based Education (OBE) System Implementation”. Vice Chancellor UET Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid, Director QEC Dr. Amir Aziz, Deputy Director Mureed Abbas, Prof. Dr. Ghulam Abbas Anjum, Director Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Asif Ali Qaiser and a large number of lecturers and professor participated in the workshop.
Dr. Amir Aziz highlighted the importance of Outcome Based Education System and its implementation significance. While addressing to the participants Vice Chancellor UET Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid said, “Adequate self-assessment is beneficial to improve the quality of education and set the objectives for future to attain. For this purpose, mechanism must be studied through to meet international standards introduced by different organization. Quality can be enhanced by taking appropriate and required measures in desired fields”.
“UET believes in outcome based education for channelizing the efforts of learners to serve the society at large. To meet the challenges of national and international markets curricula, practical and other educational practices must be up to the mark. This will ensure the performance and input of working force to bring the efforts on real track of progress” he added. He further talked that OBE is a process that involves assessment and evaluation practices in education so it is need of time to maintain it. At the end of workshop souvenir and certificates were distributed among participants.
