To highlight the thoughts and ideas of Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal, Jashan-e-Khudi events are being organized by IUB and PAC 

Bahawalpur, November 01, 2022 (PPI-OT):Directorate of Public Relations, Islamia University Bahawalpur in order to highlight the thoughts and ideas of Allama Dr. Muhammad Iqbal, Islamia University Bahawalpur is organizing a ten-day self-celebration ceremony. In this regard, a joint consultation meeting of the Department of Iqbalat and Punjab Arts Council Bahawalpur Division was held under the chairmanship of Dr. Muhammad Rafiqul Islam, Chairman of the Department of Iqbalat and Philosophy.

The participants of the meeting included Sajjad Hussain, Director of Arts Council, Dr. Muhammad Asghar Sial, Malik Zaka Allah, Dr. Iram Saba, Atbanullah, Mohsin Raza and Faqih Islam. Dr. Muhammad Rafiqul Islam, Chairman of Iqbaliyat Department informed the details of the celebration in the light of the instructions of Sheikh Al Jamia Engineer Prof. Dr. Athar Mehboob. He said that this celebration will be unique in its nature in which the celebrations will continue for ten days with the collaboration of both institutions. “Allama Iqbal’s calligraphy, words and pictures” The exhibition will continue from 1st to 10th November 2022 at the Haqra Art Gallery, Baghdad Al-Jadeed Campus, in which there will be a photo exhibition of the life of Allama Dr. Muhammad Iqbal as well as poems based on his poems.

On this occasion, as an expression of the commitment of the people of Bahawalpur to Iqbal, a rare manuscript of Shaikh-e-Iqbal will also be presented. In the photo exhibition, the new generation will be informed about the complete life of Iqbal. The rare photographs will show Iqbal’s engagements, family life and meetings. College of Arts and Design has been hired in this regard. On November 2, 2022, there will be a speech competition under the title “O Tair Lahuti Sus Rizk Se Mut Judi” in Rashidiya Auditorium, in which students from schools, colleges and universities will participate. On November 3, 2022 in Rashidiya Auditorium essay writing competition “Khudi Hai Tegh Fasan” It will be held under the title of in this competition, male and female students will show the essence of their creativity and present Iqbal’s thoughts in their respective subjects.

Calligraphy competitions will be held on November 5, 2022 in Rashidiya Auditorium. A large number of students from schools, colleges and universities will participate in this competition. Artists will be given two hours to create their artwork. Art experts have been appointed as judges to decide the positions. On November 7, 2022, painting/sketch competitions will be held in Rashidiya Auditorium, in which interested students will be allowed to participate. Contestants will be free to express their creativity without being restricted to any particular medium.

On this occasion, through sketches and colours, the message itself will be transmitted through the new generation. Tableau Kalam-e-Iqbal competition will be held on November 8, 2022, in which students of schools, colleges and universities and Students will be given an opportunity to present the message of Iqbal on stage. The Kalam-i-Iqbal music night will be held on November 8, 2022 at Rashidiya Auditorium. In this music festival, local and nationally renowned singers will present Kalam-e-Iqbal through their art. A book exhibition will be organized from November 8 to November 10, 2022 to promote study books among male and female students, in which book stalls will be set up at discounted prices by Iqbal Akademi Pakistan Lahore, Fiction House Lahore and other publishers.

Food stalls will also be set up from November 8 to November 10, 2022, in which well-known establishments of Bahawalpur will present their food items. On November 9, 2022, the main event will be held at Khawaja Ghulam Farid Auditorium, Baghdad Al-Jadeed Campus. In which well-known Iqbal experts of the country will participate and give special lectures on Iqbal’s thought and art. A large number of university students will be present on this occasion. Thoughts of Iqbal in the new generation Special arrangements have been made. In which well-known young poets of the country will participate. Mushaira will start at five o’clock in the evening, which will be presided over by Mr. Wasi Shah, the most popular poet of the new generation. Agha Sadaf Mehdi and Dr. Farzana Riaz will perform the administrative duties.

The participants of the mushaira included Dr. Asim Saqlain, Azhar Faragh, Dr. Sabra Shaheen, Zaheer Maharavi, Mazhar Niazi, Nasir Adeel, Dr. Iftikhar Ali Iftikhar, Khalid Mehboob, Pars Mazari, Atif Naseer, Imran Ali Awan, Nasir Sial, Mohsin Dost and Hafeez Tahir. Names are included. He further informed that the calligraphic words of Iqbal and pictures of Allama Iqbal will be inaugurated by Engineer Professor Dr. Athar Mehboob Vice Chancellor, Raja Jahangir Anwar Commissioner Bahawalpur Division and Zahid Parvez Waraich Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur. The College of Fine Arts and Design will provide special support to the exhibition. While giving a briefing about the arrangements, Dr. Muhammad Rafiqul Islam and Sajjad Hussain said that to make the event successful nine committees have been formed for this.

The head of the stage committee will be Dr. Muhammad Asghar, who will be assisted by M. Full scholars will be Nureed Fatima, Iqra Akhtar, Iram Akbar and BS students Mohammad Sufyan and Akmal Munir. The welcome committee will be chaired by Dr. Iram Saba, her assistants will be PhD scholar Asifa Akbar, teaching assistant Uzma Mazhar and BS students Tayyaba Iram, Aliza Fatima and Ayesha Anwar. The chairman of Mushaira committee will be Hafiz Atbanullah, his assistants will be PhD scholars Muhammad Hafeez Tahir, Muhammad Shahid Hussain and BS students Sanaullah and Muhammad Ahmed. The responsibility of the discipline committee will be entrusted to Mohammad Mohsin Raza.
