Threat of war: 74% Pakistanis believe that war with India is somewhat or highly likely: Survey

Islamabad, March 14, 2019 (PPI-OT): According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan on the issue of India-Pakistan relations post Pulwama Attack (full report available at http://wp.me/p64ZBV-6Ns), 74% Pakistanis believe that war with India is somewhat or highly likely.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “How likely do you think is the war between Pakistan and India these days?” In response to this question, 31% believe it is very likely, 43% said it is somewhat likely, 24% said it is not at all likely while 2% did not know or did not wish to respond.

Question: “How likely do you think is the war between Pakistan and India these days?”

The study was released by Gilani Research Foundation and carried out by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 1044 men and women in urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during 02 March – 05 March, 2019. The error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 percent at the 95% confidence level.
