Launching Ceremony of PakTESOL Central Punjab Chapter at University of Education

Lahore, February 24, 2022 (PPI-OT):Department of English, University of Education, Lahore, Regional English Language Office of the US Embassy (RELO) and Pakistan English Language Teaching (ELT) Forum jointly organized the launching ceremony of PakTESOL Central Punjab Chapter at University of Education, Township Campus on 24-02-2022.

The main objective of this event is to bring the English language teachers of different educational institutions as members of the PakTESOL Platform and bring the teaching of English language in line with modern international requirements. Former Vice Chancellor Allama Iqbal Open University Prof. Dr. Shahid Siddiqui, University of Education, Director Counselling Center Dr. Ahsan Bashir, Chairperson English Department, Dr. Mubashir Nadeem, Project Director PakTESOL Dr. Muhammad Kamal Khan, Zaheer Hussain and others graced the occasion while Vice Chancellor, University of Education, Lahore Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I.) presided over the inaugural session.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor, University of Education, Lahore Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I.) said that our English teachers can take full advantage of this program. He said that English is an international language which is very important to be mastered as a large part of research in most of the sciences around the world is published in English.

There is a great store of knowledge in English, so we have to understand the growing importance of English language and look at the new possibilities of teaching in it. Speaking at the ceremony, the US Consul General William K Makaneole said that the United States attaches great importance to its relations with Pakistan. Is arranged. We believe that through this platform we can further improve our efforts for better communication of English language and literature globally. It should be noted that on the second day of this program there will be 4 training sessions on English language while at the end of the ceremony certificates will be distributed among the participants.

UE organized International Virtual Conference on “Zoological Emerging Scientific Trends” 

Lahore, January 20, 2022 (PPI-OT):The 1st two days virtual international Conference on ‘’Zoological Emerging Scientific Trends (ZEST)’’ has been concluded at University of Education, Lahore, which was being attended by more than 1400 participants including 27 international and national keynote speakers. During Conference dozens of research papers were presented. The Conference was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor, University of Education, Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I.).

While talking on the occasion, he thanked all participants, guests of honour and keynote speakers to join the event. He also congratulated the department for organizing this event. He further said the conference will give us knowledge and learning from each other. The key intention of the conference is to provide an opportunity for the global participants to share their zoological ideas and experiences in person with their peers expected to join from different parts of the world.

Dean Forman Christian College, Lahore, Prof. Dr. Kausar Abdullah Malik (H.I. S.I. T.I.) graced the event as Chief Guest who gave very visionary point of view. He said whole program is very impressive and will be very fruitful. He declared the century the era of life sciences and further added that development in health is one of the aspects of life sciences and all the areas of this field contributed to economy of world especially in pandemic of COVID in finding vaccine.

International speakers such as Prof. Dr. Shang-Tian Yang (USA), Prof. Dr. Usman Atique (South Korea), Prof. Dr. Hannes Stockinger (Austria), Prof. Dr. Johannes A. Two Days Online International Conference on Chemistry concluded at University of Education

Lahore, January 20, 2022 (PPI-OT):The 1st two days online international Conference on “Trends and Research in Chemistry” has been concluded at University of Education, Lahore, yesterday. Scholars and Scientists from thirteen countries including China, Malaysia, UK, Spain, Bahrain, India, Australia, Chili, Sweden etc. participated in the said Conference. Vice Chancellor, University of Education, Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I.) presided over the Conference while Chairman Pakistan Science Foundation Prof. Dr. Shahid Mahmood Baig participated as chief guest in the closing ceremony.

While talking to the concluding session of the Conference Chairman Pakistan Science Foundation Prof. Dr. Shahid Mahmood Baig said that the development in the field of Chemistry is very beneficial for the entire humanity and we should continue our efforts to open new ways of research. He congratulated the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I.) and his team for arranging such a useful event. During the two days Conference dozens of research paper were presented by the researchers.

University of Education organized Two International Conferences on Chemistry and Zoology

Lahore, January 19, 2022 (PPI-OT):The 1st two day online international Conference on “Trends and Research in Chemistry” has been started at University of Education, Lahore on January 18, 2022 which will continue till January 19, 2022. Scholars and Scientists from thirteen countries including China, Malaysia, UK, Spain, Bahrain, India, Australia, Chili, Sweden etc. as well as Pakistan are participating in the said Conference.

While inaugurating the first session of the Conference the Vice Chancellor, University of Education, Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I.) said that the purpose behind organizing this international Conference is to provide a platform to the researchers around globe to share their researches and knowledge in the field of chemistry because chemistry is very important and significant field for the welfare and wellbeing of humanity.

We can serve the humanity a lot while going through more and more development in this field. He said I am sure the Conference will provide a gateway for the scientists and chemists to share their ideas for the mutual benefits and will open new doors of further research. He congratulated the Chairperson Chemistry Department of UE Prof. Dr. Mian Habib Ur Rehman for organizing such a useful event. The chief guest of the Conference was Principal School of Chemical and Materials Engineering, National University of Science and Technology, Islamabad Prof. Dr. Amir Azam Khan.

MoU signed between University of Education and Women Development Department, Punjab

Lahore, December 23, 2021 (PPI-OT):A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between University of Education, Lahore and Women Development Department, Government of Punjab for the establishment of Women Development Centre at UE Township Campus. According to the signed MoU, Women Development Department, Government of Punjab shall provide financial grant, furniture, equipment and essential machinery for the establishment of Women Development Center. The Provincial Department will also prepare plan for improvement of the Center and develop mechanism for future collaboration.

On the other hand, University of Education, Lahore is responsible for providing a suitable place for establishment of the Center. The University will also appoint in-charge and other human resource required to run the day to day operations of Centre. It will operate and maintain Centre and its expense on self- supporting basis. Secretary Women Development Department, Government of Punjab, Ms. Ambreen Raza and Vice Chancellor, University of Education, Lahore Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I.) signed the MoU on the behalf of their respective institutions.

School Milk Program

Lahore, December 21, 2021 (PPI-OT):“School Milk Program” Started for the Students of 90 Schools being Run Under UE Under the “School Milk Program; the provision of milk to the students” of 90 schools being run under the Public School Support Program of University of Education, Lahore has been started. In this regard the inauguration ceremony was held at the Pearl Continental Hotel Lahore yesterday which was attended by the Provincial Minister of Higher Education Raja Yasir Humayoun Sarfraz, Provincial Minister for Live Stock Husnain Bahadar Dreshak, Provincial Minister for social welfare Yawar Abbas Bukhari, the Vice Chancellor University of Education, Prof Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I.) and Managing Director of Friesland Engro Pak Ltd, Ali Ahmad Khan.

While welcoming the guests the Vice Chancellor University of Education Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I.) said that we have started this useful program in the light of the vision of honourable Prime Minister of Pakistan who is very much concern about the problems of male nutrition in our children. He said the University of Education is spending an amount of Rs. 8.5 million on this project from his own sources to provide free milk to the students of 90 primary schools located in the remote areas of Attock and Sheikhupura.

Dr. Pasha said the purpose of the said program is to improve the nutrition level of our students to enhance their academic achievements. He told the participants that Friesland Engro Pak Ltd. will support the research component of the School Milk Program of University of Education in terms of milk supply chain, providing resources for research, communication and extending milk supply for the sample and contend groups for research completion while University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore and University of Education will jointly do research on impact of milk feeding on nutrition status of children and their school performance.

While addressing the gathering, the chief guest Raja Yasir Humayoun Sarfraz said that male nutrition is a global issue and unfortunately Pakistan is one of the country included in the list where a large number of children are suffering from male nutrition, stunted and underweight. I am sure that with the help of such type of projects we can overcome their problem to a greater extent.

The Minister further said that University of Education always take innovative steps towards education under the able leadership of Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I.) While addressing the participants Provincial Minister Sardar Husnain Dreshak and Syed Yawar Abbas Bukhari also praised the University of Education for launching this useful project. The focal person of the program Dr. Intezar Hussain Butt briefed the participants in detail about this project. At the end of ceremony an MoU was signed between University of Education, Lahore, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore and Friesland Engro Pak Ltd.
