UE Holds an International Conference on “Religions and World Peace” Foreigner Scholars Participated

Lahore, March 15, 2023 (PPI-OT): An international Conference on “Religions and World Peace” was held at the main Campus Township, University of Education, Lahore on March 15, 2023. The opening ceremony of the conference was presided over by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I.), while the Director Seerat Chair Ghazi University, DG Khan Prof. Dr. Arshad Muneer Laghari was the chief guest. Director Division of Islamic and Oriental Learning Prof. Dr. Waheed Ur Rehman welcome the participants of the Conference while Conference Focal Person, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Shahbaz Manj briefed the participants regarding Conference objectives.

The conference aimed to discuss the role of religion in promoting peace and harmony in the world. Scholars, religious leaders, and experts from different countries like USA, Australia, Nigeria, Germany, France, South Korea, Gambia and Egypt participated in the conference and shared their thoughts on the subject. The speakers emphasized the importance of religious tolerance and coexistence among people of different faiths.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I.) in his opening remarks said that religion can play a vital role in creating a peaceful world. He stressed the need for promoting interfaith dialogue and understanding to eradicate extremism and promote peaceful coexistence. Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Arshad Muneer Laghari, in his keynote address, said that the government of Pakistan is committed to promoting interfaith harmony and religious tolerance. He highlighted the steps taken by the government to promote peace and harmony in the country. Prof. Dr. Herman Robarge from University of Melbourne, Australia also expressed his views in the opening session of the Conference.

The conference was a successful endeavour towards promoting peace and harmony among people of different religions. It provided an opportunity for scholars and experts to share their ideas and experiences and come up with practical solutions to promote interfaith harmony and religious tolerance. On this occasion, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arshad, Lahore based Director/Principals of UE and a large number of students were also present.

1st International Conference on “Educational Leadership and Policy” held at UE, with the participation of foreign academics 

Lahore, February 20, 2023 (PPI-OT):The first two-day international conference on “Educational Leadership and Policy” started at the University of Education, Lahore on February 20, 2023. Dozens of domestic and foreign academics including Britain, Turkey and China are participating in the conference.

A total of more than 26 research papers will be presented in this two-day international conference. The opening ceremony of the international conference was held in the main campus township of UE, which was presided over by Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Talat Nasir Pasha (S.I.) while the Chief Guest was former Executive Director of Higher Education Commission, Ex-Vice Chancellor LUMS and Chief Executive Knowledge Stream.

Professor Dr. Syed Sohail H Naqvi. At the beginning of the event, Director Division of Education Professor Dr. Ayaz Muhammad Khan welcomed the participants and gave a briefing about the aims and objectives of the international conference.

In the opening ceremony of the International Conference, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Talat Nasir Pasha (S.I.) welcomed the participants of the conference and said that undoubtedly the secret of the moral, social and economic development of nations lies in education.

Pakistan is facing the most difficult situation in history today, the solution of which can be found only through development in the field of education and research. However, the most important thing in this is educational guidance and the best strategy.

If our education system, curriculum and policy are not in accordance with the ground realities and contemporary requirements, then the nation cannot benefit from the rich fruits of such education. It is imperative that we today once again review our education policy and adopt a strategy on a permanent basis that will have far-reaching and sustainable positive effects.

He said that the University of Education is playing its active role for the development of our country in the field of education, a clear proof of which is today’s international conference. Addressing the conference, the chief guest Professor Dr. Syed Sohail H Naqvi said that first of all, I congratulate the University of Education, Lahore for organizing this international conference on the most important topic of the time.

He said that the challenges that our nation is facing today can undoubtedly be faced only through development in the field of education. Unfortunately, there is a huge gap between the education of graduates and our industrial needs, which we can close through better education policy.

I strongly believe that this conference will play an important role in shaping our national educational philosophy. UE holds Umrah Lucky Draw and MoU with Emerson University, Multan

Lahore, February 17, 2023 (PPI-OT):University of Education announced to send two of its employees for performing Umrah after a lucky draw held here at main Campus on February 17, 2023. Dr. Sara Azhar from Division of Management and Science and Muhammad Waqas from Financial Aid Office were declared lucky. According to the Umrah package policy, one lucky person will be selected from BS-01 to BS-15 and one from BS-16 to above and complete package of Umrah will be given to them. Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I.) congratulated to the lucky employees who selected for Umrah and said that of course attending Roza-e-Rasool (PBUH) and Khana Kaba is a great wish of any Muslim and to fulfill this desire, the University of Education sends its two employees to perform Umrah every year.

The Vice-Chancellor hoped that the employees who were declared lucky through lottery would pray for the betterment and development of not only themselves, the University but also for our beloved country. Meanwhile a memorandum of understanding (MoU) were signed between University of Education, Lahore and Emerson University, Multan at UE Main Campus on February 17, 2023.

The objective of the MoU is to create a strategic alliance and seamless linkage among the Parties in the areas of Learning and Development, Research, Innovation, Entrepreneurship and other avenues including Corporate Trainings, Cooperative educational program, Career Opportunities for Youth. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I.) from University of Education, Lahore and Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ramzan from Emerson University, Multan signed the memorandum of understanding (MoU).

UE organized a seminar titled “Educational Leadership and Sustainability” with the special participation of UNESCO Chair Prof. Dr. Charles Hopkins

Lahore, February 16, 2023 (PPI-OT):University of Education, Lahore Toastmasters organized a seminar titled “Educational Leadership and Sustainability” at Main Campus, Township on February 16, 2023, which was presided over by Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I.) while Rector University of Management and Technology and Air Vice Marshal Professor Dr. Asif Raza was the chief guest. Chair of Education for Sustainable Development UNESCO and Professor of York University Canada Dr. Charles Hopkins, former Vice Chancellor University of Sargodha Professor Dr. Riaz ul Haq Tariq and former Vice Chancellor University of Education Professor Dr. Munawar Sultana Mirza were among the speakers. On this occasion, President UE Toastmasters Dr. Humaira Irfan gave a briefing to the participants regarding Toastmasters and objectives of the said seminar.

Addressing the seminar, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I.) said that no country or society can develop without the promotion of education and the most important thing for the promotion of education is its best planning, under which the goals and objectives of education should be decided and headed in this direction under the educational leadership. He said that education is not only the name of teaching, but it gives a person the consciousness of living life and creates a sense of the goals and duties of life, through education a nation can pass on its cultural, mental and intellectual heritage to future generations.

While addressing the seminar chief guest Rector University of Management and Technology and Air Vice Marshal Professor Dr. Asif Raza said that education is the foundation on which the building of any country or nation is built. And to make education a strong foundation, we need qualified educational leadership. On this occasion, Chair of Education for Sustainable Development UNESCO and Professor of York University Canada Dr. Charles Hopkins, former Vice Chancellor University of Sargodha Professor Dr. Riaz ul Haq Tariq and former Vice Chancellor University of Education Professor Dr. Munawar Sultana Mirza also expressed their views. At the end of the ceremony, Director Division of Education Professor Dr. Ayaz Muhammad Khan thanked the chief guest, speakers and all the participants. Kashmir Solidarity Day: Walk and seminar organized at University of Education, Lahore 

Lahore, February 06, 2023 (PPI-OT):The Kashmir Solidarity Day was celebrated in the University of Education, Lahore on February 6, 2023. On this occasion, a walk was conducted in the main campus, township of the UE, which was headed by the Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I.). The participants displayed banners and placards with slogans of solidarity with oppressed Kashmiris.

A seminar was followed by the walk, which was presided over by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Talat Nasir Pasha (S.I) while the guest speaker was Prof. Dr. Rana Ijaz Ahmed, Director of Confucius Institute, The Punjab University. A large number of teachers and students along with Director Students Affairs Dr. Faheem K. Butt attended the program.

Addressing the seminar, University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I) said that Kashmir is the aorta of Pakistan, where the people will not step back until they get the right to self-determination. By changing the constitutional status of Kashmir, India has now been exposed to the international community. He said that the current situation of Kashmir is worrying for the whole world.

Modi government is engaged in genocide of Kashmiris, which is being strongly condemned. The United Nations should take immediate notice of Indian atrocities and resolve the Kashmir issue as per the resolutions passed by the Security Council in the past.

Professor Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I.) said that the Pakistani nation stands with the Kashmiri people with all its strength. Addressing the seminar, Prof. Dr. Rana Ijaz Ahmed, Director of Confucius Institute of the Punjab University said that Kashmir will not be autonomous by mere processions, but we have to shake the world conscience for the freedom of Kashmir.

A Special Meeting regarding 10th Convocation of University of Education, Lahore 

Lahore, January 30, 2023 (PPI-OT):A special meeting regarding the 10th Convocation of the University of Education, Lahore was held yesterday i.e. January 30, 2023 in the main Campus Township of the University, Lahore, which was presided over by the Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I).

The Heads of all the committees constituted regarding the 10th convocation attended the meeting and the Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I.) was briefed about the arrangements made so far regarding the convocation.

During the meeting, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I.) urged the Heads of all the committees to strengthen mutual coordination and said that convocation has a special place in any institution, so all the arrangements in this regard should be fixed in time. Exceptional arrangements should be made for degree-seeking students, their parents and guests.

He said the registration process should be completed as soon as possible. It should be noted that the 10th Convocation of the University of Education, Lahore is going to be held in the first week of March 2023. Controller of Examinations Muhammad Ashraf, Principal Township Campus Professor Dr. Rana Abrar and others participated in the meeting.
