Indus Hospital and Health Network Partners with Haque Academy

Karachi, April 11, 2023 (PPI-OT):Indus Hospital and Health Network signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Haque Academy on April 11, 2023. The agreement was signed by Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, President of IHHN, and Maria S. Haque, Director, Haque Academy. Under the new partnership, students will be inducted into Indus Yaqeen – IHHN’s youth engagement program – and will be given the opportunity to become IHHN ambassadors and participate in various awareness and fundraising events. Students will also be offered the chance to partake in i-Hope Program – IHHN’s summer and winter volunteer program.

In addition to this, Health Education sessions will be conducted by experts from IHHN for the parents, staff, teachers and students of Haque Academy. The two parties will also collaborate to organize a blood drive on school premises to help donate safe, quality blood for needy patients.

The MoU signing took place during a visit by Dr. Abdul Bari Khan to the school, during which a Tarbiyat Saving Box collection activity was also conducted with the KG-Grade 9 students who shared heart-warming stories of saving their personal allowances and raising funds in their community. The collected funds were handed over to IHHN and will be used to provide free-of-cost quality healthcare to those who need it most. Pakistan State Oil Corporate Social Responsibility Trust Partners with Indus Hospital and Health Network

Karachi, April 10, 2023 (PPI-OT):Pakistan State Oil (PSO) Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Trust visited Indus Hospital, Korangi Campus, Karachi, on April 10, 2023. During their visit, they signed an agreement between the two organizations under which PSO CSR Trust will donate two mobile X Ray machines to IHHN. The medical equipment will help enhance the radiological services at Indus Hospital and improve the quality of care provided to patients in need.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, President, IHHN, and Rana Muhammad Idrees, Trustee, PSO CSR Trust. Also present at the occasion were Syed Mashhood Rizvi, Executive Director, Communication and Resource Development, and Chief of Staff to President, IHHN, and Sumera Manzar, Trustee, PSO CSR Trust.

In addition to this, the team from PSO CSR Trust toured the hospital including the 85-bed dedicated paediatric oncology ward and Indus Kay Sitaray – IHHN’s hospital-based school. The visit served to further strengthen the relationship between IHHN and PSO CSR Trust; the two parties are committed to work in collaboration to uplift and improve the health of countless underserved and underprivileged communities across Pakistan.

Maple Leaf HD Putty 8th Corporate T20 Cup Dedicated to IHHN

Karachi, April 08, 2023 (PPI-OT): Pakistan’s most renown celebrities came together to play the opening ceremonial match of Maple Leaf HD Putty’s 8th Corporate T20 Cup – powered by Parkview City. The match was dedicated to Indus Hospital and Health Network and took place on April 7, 2023 at DHA Sports Club, Moin Khan Academy, Karachi.

The match culminated in an exciting win for CBT Team Blue which included Saud Qasmi, Humayun Saeed, Kamran Jeelani, Ali Ansari, Mohsin Talat (WK), Salman Saeed, Sameer Hussain, Rizwan Ali Jaffri, Kamran Khan, Farhan Ali Agha, Naveed Buland, Faisal Ilyas, Naeem Haq, Naveed Raza, and Ijaz Aslam. Speaking at the closing ceremony, Syed Mashhood Rizvi, Executive Director, Communication and Resource Development, and Chief of Staff to President, thanked Moin Khan Academy and all participating groups for coming together to support IHHN’s noble cause of providing free-of-cost, excellence in healthcare to all.

Mr. Tariq Ullah Sufi tours new hospital building, Korangi campus, Karachi

Karachi, April 06, 2023 (PPI-OT): Mr. Tariq Ullah Sufi, Chief Executive, Sufi Banaspati and Cooking Oil, visited Indus Hospital, Korangi Campus, Karachi, on April 5, 2023. Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, President of Indus Hospital and Health Network (IHHN), received him. During his visit, Mr. Sufi toured the expansion site where the New Hospital Building is under construction and the Indus Hospital Blood Center in the New Building. Mr. Sufi was also given a briefing on IHHN’s mission of providing free-of-cost quality healthcare to all patients in need for the pleasure of the Almighty (SAW). IHHN has been upholding this mission since its inception fifteen years ago and currently serves over 500,000 patients nationwide every month.

The demand for affordable healthcare has been skyrocketing daily and is expected to increase further in the current economic decline. In the past three years, IHHN has experienced a 42% increase in patient service load, resulting in over-stretched resources and long waiting times. To cater to the needs of all, IHHN is constructing a state-of-the-art New Hospital Building equipped with 1350 beds and a dedicated, competent healthcare workforce.

Impressed by the scale of the New Hospital Building, IHHN’s quality of services, and its remarkable mission of providing excellence in healthcare for all, Mr. Sufi pledged to become a Gold Member and aid in the completion of the New Hospital Building, which will be Pakistan’s largest hospital in the private sector upon completion. Dr. Abdul Bari Khan Addresses Students of Cedar College

Karachi, April 04, 2023 (PPI-OT):Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, President of IHHN, visited Cedar College on April 3, 2023. During his visit, he sat down with the students and briefed them on the incredible fifteen-year journey of Indus Hospital and Health Network in which it evolved from a single hospital in Korangi, Karachi, to a nationwide network of healthcare facilities. Through it all, IHHN has been providing 100% free quality care to patients in need, whilst being solely run on donations, sadaqah, and zakat. This would not have been possible without the relentless determination of the people of Indus, the generosity of its supporters, the duas given by patients, and the incredible grace of the Almighty (SWT).

Addressing the students, Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, urged them to use IHHN as a unique example and work towards their goals and the betterment of those less privileged with the same drive, good intentions, and faith in Allah (SWT). Under Meer-e-Karwaan, Pakistan’s largest youth-led campaign led by the Indus Yaqeen Program, students from schools, colleges, and universities across the country are given the opportunity to organize, run, and participate in various activities and events to raise funds and awareness for IHHN. Together they are rallying thousands of people to play their part and save lives.

Indus Hospital and Health Network and Government of Sindh Sign a Memorandum of Understanding

Karachi, April 04, 2023 (PPI-OT):Sindh province reports over 200,000 cases of dog bites in a year, and many of these have proved fatal. Health delivery centers are deficient in providing post-exposure treatment, resulting in deaths from rabies. The Sindh Minister of Health has drawn upon the experience of Indus Hospital and Health Network (IHHN) to augment rabies prevention centers in emergency departments of government health facilities throughout Sindh and provide training in the correct methodology of rabies prevention. IHHN and the Health Department, Government of Sindh (HD-GOS), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on April 3, 2023.

Present at the occasion were, Dr. Azra Pechuho, Minister for Health and Population Department, Government of Sindh; Dr. Abdul Hameed Jumani, Director, Health Services, Karachi Division; Dr. Saqib Ali Shaikh, Additional Director Prevention, Karachi Division; and Dr. Ejaz Khanzada, Chief Consultant Health Department. Several senior leaders at IHHN were also in attendance, including, Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, President of IHHN; Dr. Naseem Salahuddin, Head of Department, Infectious Diseases, IHHN; Syed Mashhood Rizvi, Executive Director, Communication and Resource Development, and Chief of Staff to President, IHHN; and Aftab Gohar, Manager, Rabies Prevention and Training Center, Infectious Diseases, IHHN.

The purpose of this MoU is to conduct Rabies Post exposure prophylaxis (PEP) training workshops, with the aim to train master trainers in the management of dog bite cases according to current WHO guidelines; IHHN will also advise the centers for providing wound wash facilities, maintaining uninterrupted supplies of anti-rabies vaccine and rabies immunoglobulin. Under the new partnership, IHHN agrees to conduct a 3-day training workshop at Indus Hospital, Korangi Campus, while the HD-GOS will facilitate the organization of the workshops and arrange all the essentials at the respective hospitals. The key points under this MOU are:

Establishing/ Strengthening Rabies Prevention Centers at government hospitals across the province Hands-on training of health care professionals as per WHO’s current recommendations on rabies PEP Post-Training Monitoring and Evaluation of all the centers The Indus Hospital and Health Network (IHHN) has been at the forefront of preventing rabies. With a state-of-the-art Rabies Prevention and Training Center at the Korangi Campus, IHHN treats thousands of dog bite patients per year and saves them from fatal rabies.
