Student Stalls at Startup Hangama 2023

Haripur, February 07, 2023 (PPI-OT):Entrepreneurship is a road towards self-reliance and indigenous development. In such desperate times when the country faces economic and political turmoil, students must be equipped with the right entrepreneurial mind-set to build executable ideas in a classroom setting.

This process requires dedication on part of a teacher to groom novices around their passions and to polish and bring out their genuine personality. Moreover, as entrepreneurship is all about action and taking the plunge, a teacher needs to build the execution capabilities of the students so they can taste the flavours and benefits of entrepreneurship before going big.

Keeping this in mind, Mr. Imran Qadir, Lecturer, Department of Management Sciences teamed up with students of BS V from Linguistics department to showcase class initiatives of students in shape of business stalls at Startup Hangama 2K23. More than 100 students from the following classes and departments displayed their Startups on Wednesday 11th January 2023:

As these stalls were part of an academic class activity, students practiced effectual principles and also executed entrepreneurial skills learnt in the subject. Department of Microbiology is going to organize Intensive Hands on Training Course on Essential Microbiology Techniques

Digi-Qabliyat UoH and Presidential Initiative on AI and Computing Joined Hands Together to offer courses on Emerging Technologies

Haripur, January 31, 2023 (PPI-OT):Digi-Qabliyat, an entrepreneurial initiative of Department of Information Technology at The University of Haripur signed a MoU with Presidential Initiative on artificial intelligence and computing (PIAIC) on January 5, 2023.

Vice Chancellor, Prof. Shafique ur Rehman, Dean Faculty of Information Technology and Numerical Sciences, Prof Mukhtaj Khan, Registrar, Mr. Riaz Muhammad, Deputy Treasurer , Imran Muhammad, Focal Person HEC DLSEI Project, Dr. Muhammad Faizan Khan, Focal Person BIC, Mr. Maed Zaman, Chief Operating Officer PIAIC, Mr. Zia Khan, and COO Metaverse Mrs. Wania participated in the Ceremony, In this agreement they decided to offer courses leading to certifications at The University of Haripur in the field of Metaverse, Web 3.0, AI and Deep Learning, Cloud-Native Computing, Ambient Computing and IoT.

It was further discussed to train students for entrepreneurship through these emerging technologies as per aspiration of UOH to be an entrepreneurial University. The university of Haripur along-with PIAIC is committed to start the above-mentioned programs in the field of metaverse in the beginning and many more to come. It will help to support the community of Haripur and this region in terms of skill-based education and globalization. The ceremony ended with high spirits and commitments for an entrepreneurial and technologically learned nation.

A MoU has been signed between National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation and The University of Haripur

Haripur, January 23, 2023 (PPI-OT):It is announced with great pleasure that a MoU has been signed between National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC) and The University of Haripur (UoH) on 18th January 2023. On this occasion, Professor Dr Shafiq Ur Rehman (Vice Chancellor, The University of Haripur) has chaired the joint meeting of both organisations, as chief guest and expressed his views on the importance of University – Industry Linkages for national development.

Further, the Vice Chancellor has been briefed by Mr. Ayaz Sarwar (GM, operations, NRTC) about the operations of NRTC. Later, the delegate of the University of Haripur has paid a guided visit NRTC R and D facilities. At the end, Vice Chancellor noted his views in the guest book and invited the delegate of NRTC to visit The University of Haripur as next step to materialise this MoU.

Honourable Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Haji Ghulam Ali Visited UoH

Haripur, January 09, 2023 (PPI-OT):According to the spokesperson of the University, Honourable Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Haji Ghulam Ali visited Haripur University, on this occasion Vice Chancellor, UoH Prof. Dr. Shafiq ur Rehman, Registrar Mr. Riaz Muhammad, Deans, professors and other officers welcomed him, while on his arrival two children welcomed him. Presented him a bouquet of flowers.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shafiq Ur Rehman told the governor in a detailed briefing about the university that Haripur University has made exemplary progress in the fields of education and research in addition to infrastructure in the ten years since its establishment in 2012, due to which the number of students has increased to 7,000, nearly one hundred academic programs of BS, MPhil and PhD are being offered in four faculties and 25 departments.

While the university has started programs equipped with technical sciences according to the requirements of the changing trends and challenges at the global level in education and research, thanks to which a significant number of students from Haripur and other areas are turning to the university.

On the other hand, the university is rapidly moving towards self-sufficiency in its financial needs. However, less than the required amount of land hinders not only the efficiency of the university but also its further expansion.

On this occasion, the Governor reiterated his full cooperation while appreciating the substantial success of the University in all the indicators of its progress. Besides, while addressing the administration and faculty, he emphasized on giving priority to modern technical sciences over traditional education so that we can make the youth educated as well as skilled, thanks to which they become a source of prosperity for themselves and the country.

In his address, he further said that in the last three decades, major changes have taken place in higher education and research, so if there is to be progress in the present era, children have to be skilled in every art. He further said that he wholeheartedly acknowledges the academic and research services of Haripur University and other universities. In the end, he once again expressed his determination to play his role fully in solving the problems of the university. At the end of their visit, they planted a sapling and participated in a group photo session.

2nd Pakistan International Food, Nutrition and Healthcare Summit and Expo at Pak China Friendship Center Islamabad organized by National Alliance for Safe Food

Haripur, January 03, 2023 (PPI-OT):2nd Pakistan International Food, Nutrition and Healthcare Summit and Expo on December 21-22, 2022 at Pak China Friendship Center Islamabad Organized by National Alliance for Safe Food. The University of Haripur in collaboration as a collaborator organized 2nd Pakistan International Food, Nutrition and Healthcare Summit and Expo in Pak China Friendship center Islamabad.

The aim of the conference was to highlight the issues and challenges for Pakistan’s Food-Nutrition and propose plausible recommendations for national sustainability. The 2nd Pakistan Food-Nutrition International Summit and Expo- 2022 highlighted the issues and solutions related to food, nutrition, its production, and the healthcare business.
