Justice still awaited despite the passage of 7 years: Khurram Nawaz Gandapur

Lahore, May 15, 2022 (PPI-OT):PAT Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur has said that the only legal demand for the impartial investigation into the Model Town tragedy has not been met in the last seven years and the oppressed continue to look for justice even today. He said that the families of the martyrs of Model Town tragedy have become a shuttlecock between the Supreme Court in Islamabad and Lahore High Court in Lahore for fair and neutral investigation. He said that it is our humble plea to the honourable judges of the judiciary to mete out justice in the Model Town case.

Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that we are staging a legal battle for justice with the help of a renowned panel of lawyers. He said that the honourable bench of the Supreme Court had taken a commitment from Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, asking him to adopt the legal course instead of launching a protest to seek justice. He said that we are true to our commitment to this day and await the fulfillment of pledge by the honourable bench of the apex court.

PAT Secretary General said that we did not have any expectation of justice in the government of the Sharif brothers and added that no headway was made in the years after their government was no more. He said that a new system needs to be established to replace the oppressive one.

The country is being pushed into anarchy and instability: Khurram Nawaz Gandapur

Lahore, April 08, 2022 (PPI-OT):PAT Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur has said that the so-called democratic political parties are pushing the country into anarchy and clash. He said that the ‘experienced’ parliamentarians have turned the country into a political ring. He said the system that cannot protect the Constitution and assemblies has no logic to survive and is better demolished.

Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that the mafias are wreaking havoc on the country due to the ongoing state of anarchy but no one is bothered. He said that accountability has become foremost. He said that the decisions on corruption references should be announced first and later the candidates are scrutinized under Articles 62 and 63. He warned that if the entry of corrupt and disloyal candidates was not barred, the country is likely to run the risk of a bigger tragedy.

PAT Secretary General said that it is for the Supreme Court of Pakistan to give its verdict on the ruling of the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly. He, however, said that the political party that has been raising a slogan of ‘give respect to vote’ has gotten busy with vote-buying and horse-trading as soon as it got an opportunity. He said that the political parties have proven in the last few days that they are more concerned about their parochial interests than those of the masses.

PAT CEC calls for strict implementation of Articles 62 and 63

Lahore, April 04, 2022 (PPI-OT):Pakistan Awami Tehreek called an emergency meeting of its Central Executive Council (CEC) to discuss the prevailing political situation in the country. The participants of the meeting were of the unanimous view that the only solution to the ongoing political and constitutional crisis is new elections and the implementation of Articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution in letter and spirit. They said that Parliament failed again to resolve the crisis like before and the decisions were left to the other branches of the state to make. They demanded an imposition of a life-term ban on the political turncoats who have held the system hostage.

The CEC also decided to launch a countrywide public awareness campaign after Eid. A committee was constituted to contact the like-minded parties, personalities and lawyers for political reforms. The CEC meeting was presided over by central PAT president Qazi Zahid Hussain who joined the meeting through a video link. While speaking on the occasion, he said that the present crisis is not new. Rather it dates back to the four decades. He said that unless people with impeccable integrity are elected to assemblies, neither will political stability be possible nor will the politics of sale and purchase of loyalties come to an end.

PAT Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said on the occasion that the PAT led a long march in 2013 for the implementation of Articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution. He said that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri told the nation that thieves, corrupt people and defaulters would join the assemblies if Articles 62 and 63 were not implemented. He said that Dr Qadri also made it clear to Imran Khan that change would be of no meaning without reforms and today the nation can see the dream of change going sour. PAT Secretary General further reminded that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri had also suggested to Imran Khan to not trust the winning horses.

The CEC meeting expressed its grave concern on unannounced load-shedding, escalating price hike, and the illegal profiteering and asked the government to bring things under control. It also requested the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take a suo moto notice of the price hike so that people could be given some relief. He said that all issues are discussed in the assemblies except unemployment, education, health and the national problems.

The CEC meeting was attended by Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, central Punjab president Mian Rehan Maqbool, Northern Punjab president Qazi Shafique, South Punjab president Noor Ahmad Sahu, Raja Zahid Mahmood, Naseer Khan Jadoon, Rao Kamran, Ijaz Saddozai, Noorullah Siddiqui, Ibrar Raza Advocate, Naeem-ud-Din Advocate, Sultan Mahmood Ch Advocate, Mian Kashif, and Ayesha Mubashir.

Central President Qazi Zahid Hussain further said that those who have given false evidence in the courts of law are also the candidate for the office of the prime minister’. Arif Chaudhry, secretary coordination PAT, said that the history of Nawaz Sharif’s contact with the foreigners is very old. He said that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri had presented evidence of the Indian nationals working in the factories owned by the Sharif family. He said that if Imran Khan had ordered investigation into Model Town tragedy and the issue of Indian spies, he would not have needed to talk about the foreign conspiracy today.

Workers Convention held under PAT in Abbottabad

Abbottabad, March 30, 2022 (PPI-OT):Addressing a workers convention in Abbottabad, PAT Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur has said that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) should stay away from the PMLN. He asked PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari not to provide it with political oxygen and space to return to power, stating that they are involved in Model Town killings. He likened the N League to a snake and said that whenever they get a chance, they would bite the hand they fed them.

PAT Secretary General reminded the PPP leadership that the PMLN put the grave of former Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto on media trial. He said that the treatment that the N League meted out to Benazir Bhutto, Nusrat Bhutto and even Asif Zardari himself is part of history. He said that the PAT supports the making of new provinces on administrative lines and an efficient local government system.

Naseer Khan Jadoon, while addressing the convocation, said that the PAT will play its role in all the provinces. He said that the party has made full preparations for local government elections in KP. He said that if the South Punjab can be made a new province and a resolution moved in the National Assembly for this purpose, then why not Hazara? He said that our demand to the Prime Minister is that his government should consider introducing legislation in the parliament for Hazara province as well along with South Punjab.

In his speech, PAT Central Punjab President Qazi Shafique said that we supported the PPP candidate contesting for NA 133 seat because the PPP was fighting the election against the perpetrator of Model Town tragedy. He said that the N League is an anti-people party and it should not get any political oxygen. Malik Karamat said in his speech that Asif Ali Zardari has hurt the feelings of the PAT workers and Pakistanis by giving his full support to the possibility of Shahbaz Sharif being the Prime Minister and Rana Sanaullah Interior Minister.

PAT Secretary Coordination Arif Chaudhry said that the PAT is a voice of change. He said that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri gave masses the awareness about the system, adding that the time has come to implement the ideology of Dr Qadri. He said that the current political system has brought a great disappointment for the people. He said that the patriotic citizens should come forward and play their national role instead of being spectators on the side-lines.

Meanwhile, the central leaders of KP and Hazara Division warmly received Khurram Nawaz Gandapur and other leaders on their arrival in Abbottabad. Rose petals were showered on the caravan. Those who attended the workers convention included Qazi Shafique, Naseer Khan Jadoon, Javed Hazarvi, Syed Rahat Kazmi, Malik Karamat, Asif Sulehria, Malik Tahir Javed, Ghulam Ali Khan, Azhar Mahmood Awan, Mazhar Mahmood Alvi, and Dr Umar Younis.

The ugly face of the system exposed before the people again: Khurram Nawaz Gandapur

Lahore, March 26, 2022 (PPI-OT):PAT Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur has said that whenever any political dispute strikes, it always leads to a constitutional crisis. He said that the current system does not have the capacity to resolve the crises; rather it increases their depth and number. He said that all the corrupt elements have ganged up to protect this anti-people system. He clarified that a system exists for the people, asking what kind of system this is for whose protection an effort is being made.

Khurram Nawaz Gandapur made these remarks while talking to various delegations that called on him in his office. Raja Zahid Mahmood, Arif Chaudhry and other leaders were present on the occasion. Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that a system that cannot protect itself is not expected to safeguard the interests of the people. He said that the governance of the country is suffering a great deal in the din of the no-confidence motion. He said that the international situation is very grave, while the so-called leaders of our country are busy in their internal fights, perpetuation of vested interests and jockeying for power.

PAT Secretary General said that the whole system has become ineffective and outdated. He said that the system works to protect the interests of a particular class, leaving the poor at the mercy of circumstances. He said that the common man cannot get any relief under the present system. He said that political instability is wreaking havoc on the country, adding that the sale and purchase of loyalty of the legislators is undermining the national prestige and dignity. He said that the so-called champions of democracy are tearing each other apart and the assembly has been reduced to a circus.

PAT Secretary General said that the constitutional provisions that bar defections are being violated with abandon and political and legal morality is being shredded into pieces with no consequences. He said that people are looking at the ugly face of the rotten system once again. He said what Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said about the system is proving to be true, yet again. He said that the present system does not offer anything except oppression, hatred, and injustice.
