Faisalabad, March 30, 2023 (PPI-OT): NTU Green Youth Movement Club organized a Plantation drive on 16th March 2023 to combat climate change and improve air quality. This season we mainly focused on kitchen gardening and fruit trees. Following is the list of plants that were planted this year.

On this occasion, Worthy Rector National Textile University Professor Dr Tanveer Hussain initiated the plantation drive 2023, followed by Assistant Director Office of student affairs Miss Nadia Shamim, Materials department head Dr. Khubaib Shakir and Convener NTU Green Youth Movement Club Assistant Professor Dr. Zubair Khaliq.

After the opening ceremony, President NTU Green Youth Movement Club Miss Abeera Amjad, her team and NTU gardeners carried out the Plantation at two different locations.

Faisalabad, March 30, 2023 (PPI-OT): The Society of Polymer Engineering (Department of Materials) (SPE 22-23) arranged the seminar “Configuration Control of Composite Structures” on January 16, 2023, Co-organized by Dr. Kashif Bangash. The guest speaker was Dr. Rehan Jamsheed.

The topics covered in the seminar were Couplings in Structures, Lamina Mechanics, Laminate Mechanics, ABD Matrix, and the Application of Coupling.

Faisalabad, March 21, 2023 (PPI-OT): The society of Textile chemists arranged an industrial visit to Masood Textile Mills for the students of the 6th semester on March 16, 2023. The students visited the whole assembly of textile wet processing i.e., pre-treatment, dyeing, printing and finishing of knitted fabrics. This tour was very beneficial for the students as it provided an opportunity to learn about different processes and parameters established in the industry.

The guest speaker was Dr. Asif Hafeez, Lecturer, Department of Materials. The topics covered in the seminar were flame retardants, light stabilizers, colours, fillers, and plasticizers.

Faisalabad, March 21, 2023 (PPI-OT): The Society of Textile Chemists organized a seminar for the students of Textile processing on ‘Introductory session on knits finishing’ on January 20, 2022. Mr. Ahmed Waqas, Senior Manager Finishing, MTM. was the guest speaker.

The purpose of this seminar was to indulge in the understanding of different finishing processes applied to knitted fabrics. Faculty members and students of different semesters raised their queries about the processes that depict the interest of students. Mr. Qummer Zia Gillani, Convener Textile Chemistry Society, praised the speakers’ efforts and his contributions.

Faisalabad, March 21, 2023 (PPI-OT):The Society of Textile Chemists organized a seminar with the title “Recent Trends in Textiles” on March 09, 2022. Mr Junaid Babar Senior AVP Crestex was the guest speaker.

The purpose of this seminar was to perform a discussion on new trends in the textile sector and the problems arising while adopting these trends in the processing of textiles. Faculty members and students of different semesters discussed their queries, and all the queries is well entertained by the guest speaker, and he proposed solutions and alternates for the queries. Mr Qummer Zia Gillani convener of STC praised the speakers’ efforts and his contributions.
