Bahawalpur, April 06, 2023 (PPI-OT): Vice Chancellor Islamia University Bahawalpur Engineer Professor Dr. Athar Mehboob has said that the role of media is very important in promoting education, especially in the field of higher education. Press Club Rahim Yar Khan always supported the construction and development of Islamia University Bahawalpur Rahim Yar Khan Campus and highlighted curricular and co-curricular activities in a good manner. The Vice-Chancellor expressed these views during a meeting with President District Press Club Rahim Yar Khan Asim Siddique in his office. He said that between Rahim Yar Khan Press Club and Islamia University Bahawalpur, the quota of scholarships of 2 children per semester for the children of journalists has been approved by the Syndicate.

Similarly, the furniture for the library corner in Rahim Yar Khan Press Club will be provided in the next few days. Islamia University Bahawalpur by providing necessary facilities for Al-Sadiq Library Corner to Rahim Yar Khan Press Club like Bahawalpur Press Club. Journalists will benefit and their professional activities will be helped. Senior Journalist Qaiser Ghafoor, Director Press Media and Publications Shahzad Ahmed Khalid, Director Alumni Dr. Azhar Hussain and Senior Alumni Raza Malik were present on this occasion. Dr. Azhar Hussain presented Alumni Shield to President District Press Club Rahim Ya Rakhan Asim Siddique. Bahawalpur, April 06, 2023 (PPI-OT): The inaugural ceremony of the journal “Pakistan Journal of Qur’anic Studies” published under the Department of Quranic Studies was held at the Vice Chancellor Secretariat, Baghdad Al-Jadeed Campus, Islamia University of Bahawalpur. Journal Patron Chief Engineer Professor Dr. Athar Mehboob Vice Chancellor Islamia University of Bahawalpur inaugurated the online journal website with his blessed hand. Dr. Ziaur Rehman, editor of the journal, chairman of the Department of Quranic Studies, while briefly discussing the achievements of the department, said that in a short period of time, five sessions of BS, four sessions of MPhil and four sessions of PhD are running successfully.

Revolutionary steps were taken in off-studies such as the launch of a research magazine and the annual magazine “Barg-e-Sahra” to highlight the academic and literary abilities of the students of the department. The beginning of Prof. Dr. Sheikh Shafiqur Rehman, Dean of Faculty of Islamic and Arabic Studies, Dr. Muhammad Atif, Director of Orak, Managing Editor, Dr. Muhammad Khabib, Assistant Professor, Department of Religions, Scholars and Inter-Religious Harmony, and Dr. Shafia Arshad Journal Expert participated in this event. Vice-Chancellor Engineer Professor Dr. Athar Mehboob appreciated the services of Dr. Zia-ur-Rehman and Dr. Mohammad Khabib and expressed good wishes saying that this journal will play an important role in the publication of Islamic sciences and especially Quranic sciences.

He assured to provide all kinds of administrative and technical requirements in this regard. Bahawalpur, April 05, 2023 (PPI-OT):The open defense of the research paper of Muhammad Ehsanul Haq Farooqui and Zahid Nazir Khan, PhD Scholars of Department of Educational Training, Islamia University Bahawalpur, will be held on 6th April 2023 at 10 am at the Department of Educational Training, Baghdad Al Jadeed Campus. Mohammad Ehsanul Haq Farooqi’s research thesis supervisor is Dr. Masood Ahmed, Department of Education Training, Islamia University Bahawalpur while Zahid Nazir Khan completed his research thesis under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Athar Khan, Department of Educational Training, Islamia University Bahawalpur.

Bahawalpur, April 04, 2023 (PPI-OT):The significance of fasting in the month of Ramadan can be well estimated from the fact that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said. If I tell my Ummah how much mercy Allah bestows on His servants in the month of Ramadan, my Ummah will wish that Allah had the month of Ramadan all year round. A grand seminar was organized to welcome the month of Ramadan in the Department of Commerce, Islamia University Bahawalpur. Saeed started this spiritual ceremony with the recitation of the Holy Quran and Naat Rasul Maqbool (peace be upon him). The guest speaker, Prof. Dr. Raheela Khalid Qureshi, Chairperson of the Department of Arabic, highlighted the importance of fasting in relation to the month of Ramadan, its physical, spiritual and medical effects and the obligation of fasting.

The second guest speaker, Dr. Qazi Hussain Ahmad Madani, Assistant Professor, Department of Arabic, spoke on the topic of fasting, blessings of Ramadan, blessings of Quran recitation and Taraweeh. Head of Department of Commerce, Deptt Teachers and many students participated in this seminar and the guest speakers were given honorary shields by the Department of Commerce. In this way, this grand gathering concluded with prayers for the development of Islamia University and the protection of the country and the unity of the Muslim Ummah.
