IIUI Selected for Alibaba Global Digital Talent Group’s $34000 Grant

Islamabad, April 12, 2023 (PPI-OT):An excellent training and capacity building opportunity in the field of digital transformation and E-Commerce from Alibaba Global Digital Talent Group was referred by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of Pakistan to all Universities of Pakistan, where more than 22 Universities from all over the country applied for the grant of $34000 for this training opportunity offered by Alibaba Global Digital Talent Group on Digital Economy. Only 02 universities, including the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) have been selected for this training opportunity offered by Alibaba Global Digital Talent Group on Digital Economy.

As per details provided by Coordination Office of the Business Incubation Center of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), Dr. Nishwa Iqbal, Assistant Director BIC, coordinated with the Alibaba team and prepared a proposal which was then finalized by the BIC team under the supervision of Director Business Incubation Center (BIC), IIUI and the final proposal was submitted by BIC team IIUI which endorsed by Vice President, Research and Enterprise (R and E), IIUI and approved by the worthy President IIUI. BIC team presented the proposal and highlighted the importance of digital transformation and e-commerce through various online sessions held with Alibaba Global Digital Talent Group. BIC team further discussed how the training will boost the entrepreneurial spirit at the University level.

This is a great achievement on part of IIUI to get the grant among various applicants across the country. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shujha, Vice President (R and E) congratulated the team BIC, IIUI for getting this opportunity form Alibaba, Global Digital Talent Group on Digital Economy. He added that the training will ultimately bring many intangible and tangible benefits to the IIUI i.e. fame, image building and entrance to the Chinese market through Alibaba.

IIUI Participates in Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the Constitution of Pakistan-1973 at National Assembly

Islamabad, April 11, 2023 (PPI-OT):The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) under the leadership of Vice President (Academics), Professor Dr. Ayaz Afsar along with team of university male and female students participated in the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the Constitution of Pakistan 1973, a landmark document that laid the foundation of a democratic and progressive society in the country. These celebrations were held at the National Assembly of Pakistan, Islamabad where Vice Chancellors of around one hundred Higher Education Institutions (HEI’s) across the country participated with students on the invitation of the National Assembly, speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf. The month-long celebrations commenced on April 10, 2023, with a series of events to commemorate the founding principles of federal parliamentary democracy, social justice, and equality, as enshrined in the Constitution, 1973.

These activities have been meticulously chalked out by a Parliamentary Advisory Committee, constituted by the Speaker, drawing Members from both Houses of Parliament and headed by seasoned parliamentarian Senator Main Raza Rabbani. On the commemorative day of the Constitution of Pakistan 1973, the Speaker of the National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf inaugurated the celebrations by laying the foundation stone of the Constitution Monument at the site approved by the Advisory Committee, opposite Parliamentary Lodges, D-Chowk Islamabad. The monument will serve as a permanent reminder of the importance of the Constitution in the nation’s history. This inaugural was followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at the Memorial of the Unsung Heroes of Democracy in the Parliament House, paying homage to those who fought for democracy and constitutionalism in Pakistan.

On this occasion the Speaker National Assembly also inaugurated an exhibition showcasing rare pictures of the Constitution’s framers, inspected a commemorative stamp, and then headed to the second floor of the Parliament to inspect the original Constitution and other manuscripts. The advisory committee head Senator Raza Rabbani gathered all the heads of the HEI’s at the inaugural place where they were briefed about the historic background regarding creation of the Constitution of Pakistan 1973. These celebrations culminated followed by a National Constitution Convention in the main assembly hall which was attended by parliamentarians and people from all walks of life. The Convention was chaired by the Speaker.

Prime Minister Mian Shehbaz Sharif, Chairman Advisory Committee Senator Mian Raza Rabbani, and other attendees paid tribute to the framers of the Constitution and reflected on how it has served as a cornerstone of democracy, justice, and equality in Pakistan. The session also passed a number of resolutions related to the Constitution’s recognition as a binding document, its incorporation into the national curriculum, homage to the Constitution’s framers, and declaring the State Bank building (old National Assembly Hall) as a National Monument. The celebrations were also attended by male and female students at the National Assembly of Pakistan where Prof. Dr. Ayaz Afsar Vice President (Academics), IIUI during the discussion with students shared the importance of the Constitution in shaping the destiny of Pakistan.

The Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the Constitution of Pakistan 1973 promises to be a landmark event in Pakistan’s history, celebrating the ideals and principles that define the country’s democratic and progressive identity. On this occasion IIUI Alumnae Mr. Salman Jaah serving in Parliament House as Deputy Secretary and Mrs. Maryam Idrees from Electronic Media Islamabad welcomed the university delegation while, students of the university remained enthusiastic during the entire activities and thanked the university administration for enabling them to participate in such an important and commutative ceremony held at National Assembly of Pakistan.

The month-long activities include speech contests in educational institutions, quiz competition, exhibitions, special programs by electronic media, newspaper supplements, issuance of commemorative coin and stamp as well as an international constitution convention on May 10, 2023.

Zero Tolerance at IIUI Against Law and Order Violators

Islamabad, April 10, 2023 (PPI-OT):A meeting of the security and liaison committee for coordination between District Administration and International Islamic University (IIUI) was held here on Monday at council hall in which it was decided that zero tolerance policy against elements who will create law and order situation. Meeting of this committee, constituted by worthy President IIUI, was held under the chairmanship of the Security Advisor Brig. (Retd) Muhammad Saleem Khan. It was also attended by Director Administration, SP Islamabad police Students Advisors, provost male, Principal Medical Officer and allied staff members of the security office.

In the meeting, issues regarding to law and order at campus, patrolling for the security of the students and whole IIUI community from metro station to university, overall security measures in the campuses, issues pertaining to cleaning up the hostels from the illegal boarders, initiatives to discourage narcotics such as random testing, anti-abuse committee performance and other allied matters were discussed. In the meeting, Islamabad police assured of maximum cooperation and agreed to the stance of university that zero tolerance policy shall be practiced against elements who will create law and order situation.

The committee also decided to devise an alert for the students keeping in view the prevailing security situation and a subcommittee was devised to ensure that safety alert’s creation and its implementation. The IIUI community has been provided with a helpline with an advice to stay alert and ensure their security. The committee also discussed issues such as counselling of the students to refrain from negative activities as well as matters of subcommittee for anti-abuse and bullying were also discussed.

Meeting of IRI Selection Committee of Postdoctoral Fellowship Held

Islamabad, April 06, 2023 (PPI-OT): 9th meeting of the Selection and Monitoring Committee of Islamic Research Institute (IRI) International Postdoctoral Fellowship was held on Tuesday (April 04, 2023) in Dr. Zafar Ishaq Ansari Board Room, IRI.

The committee reviewed the overall progress of the different batches of IRI International Postdoctoral Fellowship and gave recommendations for the selected candidates of IRI International Postdoctoral Fellowship session 2022-2023. Prof. Dr. Ahmad Shuja Syed (Vice President Research and Enterprise, chaired the meeting. It was also attended by Director General IRI Dr. Muhammad Zia ul Haq and members of the committee consisting of Deans, Professors and senior faculty members.

IIUI Extends Application Submission Date of English Language Courses till April 7th

qw-Islamabad, April 03, 2023 (PPI-OT):International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) has extended the last date of its English language courses in the evening till April 7th (Friday) for female students. According to the details, the Centre for language teaching of IIUI has extended the last date of the Diploma of English Language (06 months evening), Certificate English Language (3 months evening) and English language certificate (2 months evening) for female students till Friday 07th.

IIIE Organizes Seminar on “Surah Rehman: The Ultimate Remedy”

Islamabad, March 30, 2023 (PPI-OT): The Department of Economics of International Institute of Islamic Economics, IIIE, International Islamic University (Female Campus) organized a seminar on “Surah Rehman: The Ultimate Remedy”. Guest speaker of seminar, Dr. Mahrukh Zahoor, first female Cardiac Surgeon and Head of the Department, Capital Development Authority, CDA Hospital Islamabad shared her experiences about miraculous healing powers of curing deadly ICU patients.

Mrs. Zahra Zain, consultant and first female RF Engineer Telecommunications also spoke during the seminar and said, how compassion and love to the beloved radically transformed her life. Dr Nusrat Ullah, Urologist Rawal Hospital, and Ms Rida Noor, Auditor Habib Bank Limited HBL, Pakistan, themselves recovered patients and stand testimony to its truth. The speakers not only shared with an engrossed audience as how Surah Rehman works as an effective solution where the prowess of Medical Science failed. The seminar audience was captivated by the practical demonstration of Surah Rahman.

Earlier, Dr. Haleema Sadia, Assistant professor, IIIE welcomed the dedicated team of doctors for participating in the seminar and also shared her views about the significance of recitation of Holy Quran on daily basis. The seminar proceedings were followed by question answer session and testimonies by the people who hold evidence to its miraculous healing. The seminar ended with prayers to delve deeper in the quest for the miracles of the ultimate therapy and a note of thanks for all.
