Sports and Youth Affairs Department Punjab and Rizq Trust have decided to arrange grand Iftari for 300 to 500 people daily at Nishtar Park Sports Complex E-Library from April 6 

Lahore, April 06, 2022 (PPI-OT):Sports and Youth Affairs Department Punjab and Rizq Trust have decided to arrange a grand Iftari for 300 to 500 people daily at Nishtar Park Sports Complex E-Library from April 6, 2022. This decision was taken during a meeting of Rizq Trust delegation with Director General Sports Punjab Javed Chohan at National Hockey Stadium on Monday.

Director Youth Affairs Syed Omair Hassan, Assistant Director Youth Affairs Nazish Noor, founder of Rizq Trust Musa Amir and officials Mariam Irfan, Huzaifa Ahmed and Qasim Javed were also present on this occasion. Director General Sports Punjab Javed Chohan, on this occasion, appreciated the noble and righteous measure of Rizq Trust in the sacred month of Ramazan ul Mubarik. “Sports and Youth Affairs Department Punjab will fully cooperate with Rizq Trust in the grand Iftari campaign in which male and female players, officials and ordinary citizens can also participate, he added”.

Founder of Rizq Trust Musa Amir thanked Director General Sports Punjab Javed Chohan for extending valuable cooperation for this noble cause. He also lauded great services rendered by Sports Board Punjab for the promotion of sports across the province under the leadership of Director General Sports Punjab Javed Chohan.

Irfan Mana’s team Pakistan White defeat Shafiq Chishti’s Pakistan Green by 41-39 in Kabaddi Taakra 

Lahore, April 06, 2022 (PPI-OT):Kabaddi World Cup winning captain Irfan Mana’s team Pakistan White edged out world’s top kabaddi star Shafiq Chishti’s Pakistan Green team by a narrow margin of 41-39 in a closely-fought Kabaddi Taakra match at Sports Stadium Mandi Shah Jewana, Jhang on Thursday night.

Director General Sports Punjab Javed Chohan, Director Sports Nadeem Qaiser, Chief Sports Consultant SBP Hafeez Bhatti, Divisional Sports Officer DG Khan Atta ur Rehman, District Sports Officer Jhang M Jameel and a large number of kabaddi enthusiasts were also present on this occasion.

It may be noted here that the competitions of Jhang Kabaddi Festival and Kabaddi Taakra were organised under the aegis of Sports Board Punjab.

The winning team of Kabaddi Taakra was awarded a cash prize of Rs 5,00,000 while the runners up team got a prize of Rs 3,00,000. Best stopper and best raider of Kabaddi Taakra event Rana Ali Shan (Pak White) and Shafiq Chishti (Pak Green) were awarded a cash prize of Rs 20,000 each.

Pakistan’s top kabaddi players like Irfan Mana, Shafiq Chishti, Lala Obaidullah, Musharraf Janjua, Nafees Gujjar, Rana Ali Shan, Mohsin Wahla, Sajid Gujjar, Ramzan Jani exhibited excellent performance in Kabaddi Taakra and won huge appreciation from thousands of kabaddi enthusiasts.

Earlier, tehsil Jhang kabaddi team defeated tehsil Shorkot team by a thin difference of 37-35 in the final of Jhang Kabaddi Festival at the same venue. The winning team was awarded a cash prize of Rs 2,00,000, runners up side pocketed a cash prize of Rs 1,50,000 while third position holder team Ahmedpur Sial got Rs 50,000 cash prize.

Best stopper and best raider of Jhang Kabaddi Festival Farhan Gujjar (Jhang team) and Shani Gujjar were awarded a cash prize of Rs 15,000 each.

In earlier matches, Jhang outplayed tehsil Athara Hazari kabaddi team by 35-21, Shorkot edged out a local team by 30-25 and Ahmedpur Sial emerged triumphant against a local team by a margin of 28-22.

Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti and Director General Sports Punjab Javed Chohan greet Pak Blind cricket team for defeating India in the final of 3-Nation Blind T20 Cricket Tournament 

Lahore, March 24, 2022 (PPI-OT):Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti and Director General Sports Punjab Javed Chohan, on Monday, congratulated Pakistan Blind cricket team over their remarkable victory against arch-rivals India in the final of 3-Nation Blind T20 Cricket Tournament at Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.

Pakistan inflicted a 58-run defeat on strong opponents India in the final of T20 Triangular International Tournament in the UAE where Bangladesh was the third team. Badar Munir was named Man of the Match for his magnificent all-round performance.

In his greeting message, Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti lauded the performance of entire Blind cricket team particularly all-rounder Badar Munir, who contributed a match-winning innings of 63 runs off just 25 balls and took three wickets and top order batter Nisar Ali, who scored 70 runs off 51 balls. “Badar Munir and Nisar played a key role in taking Pakistan’s total to 216 for the loss of three wickets in 20 overs,” he added.

Showering praise on triumphant national Blind cricket team, Director General Sports Punjab Javed Chohan said defeating a strong Indian team in the final of 3-Nation Blind T20 Cricket Tournament is definitely a great achievement. “National Blind cricket team, who are 2-time world champions, made the whole nation proud through their marvellous performance in the title decider against India”.

Director General Sports Punjab Javed Chohan expresses deep grief and sorrow over the death of former District Sports Officer Faisalabad Mujahid Ayub Butt 

Lahore, March 24, 2022 (PPI-OT):Director General Sports Punjab Javed Chohan has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the death of former District Sports Officer Faisalabad Mujahid Ayub Butt. In this regard a condolence meeting was held at National Hockey Stadium on Monday. Talking on this occasion, Director General Sports Punjab Javed Chohan said that late Mujahid Ayub Butt was a dedicated and committed officer. His services for tracing fresh sports talent and promotion of sports will be remembered for a long time.

The participants of the meeting – Director Sports Nadeem Qaiser, Divisional Sports Officer DG Khan Atta ur Rehman, Chief Sports Consultant SBP Hafeez Bhatti, District Sports Officer Lahore Tanveer Shah and Fiaz Ahmed – prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant strength and courage to family members to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude.

Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti welcomes Australian cricket team in Lahore 

Lahore, March 24, 2022 (PPI-OT):Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti has welcomed the Australian cricket team in Lahore after the completion of two Test matches in Rawalpindi and Karachi. Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti in a statement on Thursday said that the successful holding of Test matches between Pakistan and Australia in Rawalpindi and Karachi has proved that Pakistan is a peaceful and sports-loving country.

Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti further said that top level security will be provided to the Australian cricket team during their stay in Lahore for the third Test match scheduled to be played at Gaddafi Stadium from March 21 to 25. “Playing a full series against Australia, one of the best cricket teams of the world, at home grounds, is definitely a memorable occasion for Pakistan cricket. Our administrative and security teams are making excellent arrangements for 3rd Test match against the visiting Australian team”.

Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti also appreciated the fighting batting performance of Pakistan skipper Babar Azam, M Rizwan and Abdullah Shafiq in the second innings of the second Test match at Karachi. “Certainly, it was a wonderful exhibition of amazing fighting skills of Pakistan batsmen that played a key role in saving the 2nd Test match from the jaws of defeat against a strong Australian bowling line up,” he added.
