94% Pakistanis say they have never heard the name ‘Podcast’: Gallup and Gilani Pakistan 

Islamabad, October 27, 2022 (PPI-OT):According to a survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, 94% of the respondents said that they had never heard the name podcast.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the country was asked the following question regarding, “Have you heard the name ‘Podcast’?” 94% said ‘No,’ while only 6% said ‘Yes.’

Social media app usage: WhatsApp (80%), Facebook (75%) and YouTube (70%) are the top three social media apps used amongst internet users: Gallup and Gilani Pakistan

Islamabad, October 26, 2022 (PPI-OT):According to a survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, WhatsApp, Facebook, and YouTube are the most used social media apps amongst internet users.

A nationally representative sample of internet users was asked the following question regarding, “Which of the following social media apps do you use?”80% responded ‘WhatsApp,’ 75% said ‘Facebook,’ 70% said ‘YouTube,’ while 46% responded that they use ‘TikTok,’ 30% of the internet users use ‘Instagram,’ 27% use ‘Snapchat,’ 24% use ‘Twitter,’ and only 15% use ‘Skype’

Islamabad, October 25, 2022 (PPI-OT):According to a survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, 1 in 2 Pakistanis claim to use the internet; internet usage decreases with age.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the country was asked the following question “Do you use the internet?” In response, 50% said ‘Yes’ while 50% said ‘No.’ Amongst the internet users, it was seen that the number decreases with age as the youngest age group 18-23 has the highest number of people claiming to use the internet.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the country was asked the following question “Do you listen to the radio?” In response, 10% said ‘Yes’ while 90% said ‘No.’

88% do not read the newspaper: Gallup and Gilani Pakistan 

Islamabad, October 20, 2022 (PPI-OT):According to a survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, 88% do not read the newspaper.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the country was asked the following question regarding, “Do you read the Newspaper?” 88% said ‘No’ while only 12% responded ‘Yes.’ Reading the newspaper seemed to be most popular amongst the older age group of 50+ year olds as 15% said that they read newspaper.

Less than 1 in 2 Pakistanis (48%) claim to watch the TV; TV viewership 15% higher in urban areas as compared to rural areas: Gallup and Gilani Pakistan

Islamabad, October 19, 2022 (PPI-OT):According to a survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, less than 1 in 2 Pakistanis (48%) claim to watch the TV; TV viewership 15% higher in urban areas as compared to rural areas.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the country was asked the following question “Do you watch TV?” In response, 48% said ‘Yes’ while 52% said ‘No.’ When looked at the demographic, it was seen that more urban people (58%) tend to watch TV as compared to rural people (43%).
