Jamshoro, February 11, 2019 (PPI-OT): National Computing Education Accreditation Council, Higher Education Commission (NCEAC, HEC) has awarded accreditation to BS Information Technology (IT) and BS Software Engineering (SWE) for 2 years.
According to the available details, SU Institute of Information and Communication Technology (IICT) prepared all the documentation and submitted complete application to HEC-NCEAC and subsequently HEC-NCEAC Accreditation Inspection Committee visited IICT University of Sindh a few months back. On the basis of the findings of the Accreditation Inspection Committee, HEC-NEAC decided to award 2 year accreditation to BS Information Technology (IT) and BS Software Engineering (SWE) being offered at IICT, University of Sindh.
To celebrate this landmark academic achievement, IICT arranged a befitting celebration event presided by SU VC Prof Dr Fateh Muhammad Burfat. Speaking on the eve, SU vice chancellor Prof. Dr. Fateh Muhammad Burfat expressed his pleasure over this milestone achievement, adding that this was the first ever accreditation of any public sector computing institute across Sindh and that they were really proud of our their Institute and their University being the first public sector institute and university in Sindh having NCEAC, HEC Accreditation.
“This is very much beneficial for students being important and landmark achievement which will lead to enhanced ranking of the University at national and international scale.” Dr Burfat said. Director IICT Dr. Imdad Ali Ismaili informed that the IICT had also been striving for getting accreditation from Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) for BS Electronics and BS Telecommunications and all the documentation work had been completed in this regard and were awaiting the zero visit of the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) team.
Towards the end, VC-SU vice chancellor Prof Dr Fateh Muhammad Burfat lauded the efforts of Dr Ismaili and his team and also distributed appreciation certificates. The senior IICT faculty including Dr. Syed Azhar Ali Shah, Dr. Khalil-u-Rehman Khumbhati, Prof. Dr. Lachman Das and others were also present on the occasion.
