Skardu, January 06, 2022 (PPI-OT):A 50-member students and faculty delegation from the University of Baltistan, Skardu, GB, led by Vice Chancellor, UOBS, visited Presidency / Aiwan-e-Sadr today on January 5, 2022. His Excellency, Dr. Arif Alvi, the President of Pakistan and Chancellor UOBS met the delegation and addressed the visiting students and teachers from GB. The President appreciated the unprecedented progress and development made by the newly established University of Baltistan, in a short period of time, 3-4 years.

The President appreciated the establishment of 5 sub-campuses in Skardu, holding of 4 convocations in 4 years, start of vocational training, certificate and skills development diploma programs in Tourism and Hospitality, Mines, Minerals and Gem Stones, Agri-Tourism, Glacier Grafting and Conservation of fragile GB Environment and ecosystems.

President Dr. Arif Alvi appreciated the Federal Govt for upgradation of Skardu Airport as the only International Airport in GB, PSDP funding of Rs.1747 million for infrastructure of University of Baltistan New Campus project and completion cum inauguration of strategic Skardu-Gilgit Road last month by the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
