Lahore, March 16, 2018 (PPI-OT): It is good to be active on social media but it is not a place for catharsis; many people lose their jobs and careers due to irresponsible comments and posts, said noted motivational speaker and corporate trainer Mr Ahmad Fuad while addressing a seminar at the Government College University Lahore.
The seminar titled “Dare to Dream” was organized by the university’s Dunnicliff Chemical Society to motivate students especially girls to follow their dreams in life. Former Pakistan women cricket team captain Ms. Marina Iqbal and eminent poet Mr. Ahmad Hammad shared the motivational stories of their success and advised the students to work harder to turn their dreams into reality. The seminar was followed by training session resume writing and interview techniques to make students aware of the requirements of employers.
Addressing the seminar, corporate trainer Mr Ahmad Fuad emphasized on the fact that indeed getting a degree from any educational institution was not sufficient or guaranteed a successful career. “A graduate must be equipped with all those attributes and skills that made them able to meet the rapidly changing norms of competitive job market,” he added.
“Creating a professional CV is indispensable of getting the most desirable job and goes hand in hand with a successful career. Recruiters skim through thousands of job applications every day, so a professional CV is the best way to get noticed, get the interview call, and finally to acquire the job,” Mr Fuad said.He also highlighted that job interviews could be horrifying or terrifying even to the most experienced people as well.
Ms. Marina Iqbal said that family and social pressures were one of the major hurdles in success of women in their society. GCU Dean Faculty of Sciences Prof Dr Islam Ullah Khan said that GCU was striving hard for the grooming, career building and capacity building of its students since its inception. “Our Old Ravians are the living examples of our traditions,” he concluded.
