Smokeless tobacco leading cause of cancer in Pakistan

Tobacco chewing or public consumption of smokeless tobacco products is frequently identified as the leading cause of mouth, head and neck cancer in Pakistan.

According to research, smokeless tobacco products as paan (betel leaf), niswaar (powdered tobacco snuff) and gutka (a mix of tobacco and areca nut) are serious public health hazard and cause of oral cancer and are playing major role in increase of incidence rates of tobacco related ailments in the country.
