Lahore, October 10, 2017 (PPI-OT):Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has expressed the hope that the new NAB Chairman would hold strict and across the board accountability in order to make the country corruption free. Talking to the media outside the parliament on Tuesday, he said that unfortunately, there were separate laws for the rich and the poor. Rich people could flee the country even after plundering billions whereas a poor man was rounded up in a case of a paltry amount. However, he said, time had come when the powerful should be brought into the dock.
Sirajul Haq condemned the arrest of senior leadership of the JI Bangladesh including its newly elected Chief, without any charges. He said the government of Hasina Wajid was victimizing the JI leadership in her country since long. A large number of senior JI leaders including Maulana Mutiur Rahman Nizami had been executed and it was feared that more JI leaders would also be victimized in the days ahead.
The JI chief said it was unfortunate that while the JI leadership in Bangladesh was being punished for siding with the Pakistan army in 1970 ,the Pakistan government was treating the matter as internal issue of Bangladesh. He said that the Pakistan government could provide some relief to the JI Bangladesh leaders by highlighting the tripartite agreement between Pakistan, India and Bangladesh.
