Senator Sirajul Haq shows concerns over recent price hike in sugar and other commodities

Lahore, January 10, 2019 (PPI-OT): Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has said that the sugar mafia had become active once again and was openly looting the people. Talking to the JI workers in his constituency at Samar Bagh, he said that sugar price had gone up by Rs. Eight per KG during a few days and it seemed that each and every government was protecting the sugar mafia. He said that the PTI claim of bringing about a change and improving the lot of the common man had gone in the air.

Sirajul Haq said that in spite of loan and foreign aid, the government had not been able to improve the country’s economy nor had it controlled price hike. The prices of numerous items especially sugar had gone up and the flood of price hike caused by the rise in the dollar price was not being controlled.

The JI chief said that the PTI had contested the election on the slogan of Islamic state. He said that as long as the rulers thought themselves above accountability, fingers would continue to be raised against this process because in an Islamic state, the rulers were also accountable before the masses.
