Saudi Arabia condemns suicide attacks in Pakistan, Afghanistan

An official source at the Saudi Foreign Ministry expressed the Kingdom’s strong condemnation of the two separate suicide attacks in Pakistan and Afghanistan on Tuesday.

Twenty people were killed and more than 30 others injured in a suicide attack targeting an election gathering of the Awami National Party (ANP) in Pakistan’s northwestern city of Peshawar on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, a suicide bomber killed at least 12 people, including several children, after detonating his explosives near a petrol station in Afghanistan’s eastern city of Jalalabad.

According to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the official source conveyed the sincere condolences of the Kingdom to the families of the victims as well as to the governments and peoples of Pakistan and Afghanistan, wishing a speedy recovery to the wounded. The source also reiterated Saudi Arabia’s standing and solidarity with both countries in their fight against terrorism and extremism.
