Promotion of book reading meant to promote peace: Director Rawalpindi Arts Council

Rawalpindi, January 09, 2019 (PPI-OT): A one day book fair was organized under auspices of Government College for Women B-Block here on Thursday. Director Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) Waqar Ahmed flanked by Principal Azra Parveen inaugurated the book fair. The Book Fair has been organised by the District Administration Larkana in connection with Shahar-e-Benazir Mega Festival-2018.

The fair attracted a large number of the people including students and their parents who were taking keen interest in the fair. Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Director RAC Waqar Ahmed said that this was a healthy exercise for books lovers of different subjects.

He said that the habit of reading is useful for the students and they should realize their responsibilities in terms of education. He applauded college administration for arranging book fair. He further added that promotion of book reading was meant to promote peace. Principal Azra Parveen also addressing on the occasion said that aim of conducting book fair was to create self-confidence among students.
