PPP Parliamentarians Central Information Secretary and MNA Shazia Atta Marri slams Govt over high petrol prices despite global oil price drop 

Islamabad, December 03, 2021 (PPI-OT):Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians Central Information Secretary and MNA, Shazia Atta Marri while showing grave concern on price hike in petroleum products has said that petrol is being sold on highest prices in the country despite of decline in the petroleum products in global market. She questioned that why Imran Khan’s incompetent government is selling petrol at highest rates to people of country while global oil prices are being dropped. This she said in a statement issued hereon today.

Shazia Marri said that Prime Minister Imran Khan should be ready because people of Pakistan will be on roads and streets against ruling government over the rising prices of petroleum products on December, 10 and people will also stage demonstration across the country over unprecedented price hike of petroleum products on 10th Dec. Ms Marri added that the PPP’s call for staging protest against rising petrol prices will be proved graffiti for the ruling government. She said that neighbouring country India has reduced the petrol prices and also reducing government taxes, but PTI government is not providing any relief to the people of Pakistan.

It is the injustice and height of oppression that Imran Khan’s ruling government is receiving up to Rs.27 from the people on per litre on account of petroleum levy. She demanded that ruling government should reduce the petrol prices in the light of global reduction and taxes should also be reduced immediately. She said that it is fraud with the people of Pakistan that the lowest per capita income country like Pakistan was being compared with the most prosperous countries in the prices of petroleum products. While criticizing she said that today the inflation in Pakistan has reached its highest level and the prices of food items are out of reach of the people but government has no plan to reduce people’s miseries.
