Plantation Day under PM 10 Billion Plantation Drive observed at KIU

Gilgit, March 15, 2019 (PPI-OT): Karakoram International University has celebrated the Plantation Day under PM 10 Billion Plantation Drive at KIU main campus. HE Governor Gilgit Baltistan Raja Jalal Hussain Maqpoon inaugurated plantation campaign with plant a tree in presence of Vice Chancellor, Government officers, KIU staff, Faculty and students. Speaking inaugural session of Plantation Drive Governor GB Raja Jalal Hussain Maqpoon said that PM Imran Khan’s efforts to make Pakistan a clean and green country through the PM10 billion trees plantation tsunami. Governor instructed the Secretary Forest to plant trees around the barren areas of KIU.

He assured the VC of his untiring support towards the solution of the problems of the University especially the resumption of PM fee reimbursement program. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Attaullah Shah said in his speech that last year 10 thousand trees planted at all campuses of KIU under PM 10 Billion Plantation Drive. VC said that we are giving one plant to students and faculty of each affiliated school and college of KIU. In each school and college we will identify a focal person, who will maintain log of these plants. The retention of those plants will check every six months and awards shall be given to the best school and college.
