Pakistan Awami Tehreek to hold public meetings for Rohingya Muslims today

Lahore, September 08, 2017 (PPI-OT): PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has advised the PAT workers and local chapters to actively and fully participate in the protest rallies being held on September 8 in hundreds of cities across the country to express solidarity with the Rohingya Muslims of Burma. He said that the government of Burma is not letting the entry of the international media and the UN mission, which is proof of the fact that the Burmese Muslims are being subjected to the worst ever reign of terror.

Dr Qadri said that it has been one month since the violent incidents have been taking place in Burma but no concrete action has been proposed by the UN, which is tragic. He said that both the UN and the Islamic world have utterly failed in checking violence and state terrorism and taking steps for protection of the Muslims of Burma, which is but barbarism at full display.

The PAT Chairman urged the UN Security Council to take urgent steps to end violence and restore peace and the world body should immediately send the peacekeeping mission in Burma. He said that the international community should take strict notice of the state-sponsored terrorism. It is pertinent to mention here that the PAT is organizing public meetings in different big and small cities of the country today as a gesture of solidarity with the Rohingya Muslims.
