Lahore, July 26, 2021 (PPI-OT):Chairman Superior Group of Colleges and Universities Prof. Dr. Chaudhry Abdur Rehman called on Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Parvez Elahi today and discussed the issues private universities are facing. Secretary Punjab Assembly Muhammad Khan Bhatti was also present in the meeting.
Ch Parvez Elahi said that our mission is to promote education in Punjab and Pakistan. We have fulfilled this mission during our tenure as Chief Minister and will continue to do so in future as well. We strive to establish as many educational institutions in the private sector as possible to further promote quality education in Punjab and Pakistan.
He said that promotion of education across the country especially Punjab has been a part of our fundamental policy. During our tenure as Chief Minister, we tried to establish as many public and private sector universities as possible so that the people of Pakistan, especially in Punjab could be provided with higher education. Insha-Allah, we will continue to encourage the establishment of new universities in the public and private sectors and provide all possible assistance.
He further said that due to the shortage of seats in public sector universities, a large number of students are deprived of admissions. The private educational institutions and universities established through our efforts will play their role in filling this gap.
Prof. Dr. Chaudhry Abdur Rehman thanked the Speaker Punjab Assembly and said that whether Ch Parvez Elahi was the Chief Minister or as the Speaker, he has always patronized educational institutions. Ch Parvez Elahi’s education friendly policies especially “Parha Likha Punjab” received international acclaim.
