Turbat, November 17, 2022 (PPI-OT):An online session on trading futures at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange (PMEX) was conducted by the Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC) on 14th November at the University of Turbat (UoT). Ms. Sobia Ashraf, AGM- Marketing and Communication at PMEX interacted with the faculty and the students through a video link.
She discussed the types of futures and the trading mechanisms at PMEX. She gave an overview of trading futures, opening accounts, selecting brokers, and the benefits of trading. During the session, she said the team of PMEX would arrange another session in which the faculty and students will be involved in a demo trading. On this occasion, Dr. Ghulam Jan, Director ORIC appreciated and thanked Ms. Sobia Ashraf, Mr. Bilal Farooq Zaidi, Secretary General, Pakistan Stock Brokers Association, and Mr. Zaki-Ur- Rehman, AGM-Business Development, PMEX for conducting an informative session with the students and the faculty of UoT.
Dr. Ghulam Jan further said that such sessions would enhance the learning of business students and encourage them to involve in trading. He also ensured the students and the faculty that the next session would soon be conducted for Demo trading in collaboration with UoT’s ORIC and PMEX. He also thanked Mr. Noroz Khan, Mr. Badal Khan, Mr. Abdul Jabbar, and Mr. Alam Khan, faculty members, of the Management Sciences department for their presence and interaction during the session.
In the question and answer session, students asked questions to learn and gain more information about futures trading. At the end, Director ORIC extended his gratitude to the worthy Vice chancellor for his support in arranging such informative sessions for the students and the faculty members that will help them gain practical knowledge.
