Mohammad Ali Jinnah University students shine at National Engineering Competition

Karachi, May 15, 2018 (PPI-OT): President Mohammad Ali Jinnah University, Karachi (MAJU) Prof. Dr. Zubair Shaikh said that Literacy, Education and knowledge are three important things presently which help us to know that what is happening around the world particularly development in the fields of science and technology. He said the awareness created through these three things compelled us to think to do something extra ordinary for the society. He asked the students to take out themselves from books knowledge and to work for the welfare of the country and nation such as poverty alleviation, encouragement of education system, provision of pure drinking water for public and to curb corruption, indiscipline and lawlessness. He said that he is very much hopeful that our youths have sufficient capability to resolve the issues being faced by the country presently.

These views he expressed while he was addressing to the closing session of the National Engineering Competition program SPARCOM-2018 at University auditorium last evening. This event was organized by Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Society (RAIS) of Computing and Engineering departments, MAJU. Beside participating the students of city five prominent Universities, Iqra, Baherya, Indus, MAJU and PAF, (KIET) Schools and Colleges students also participated in this event. President, RAIS, Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui and Vice President, Mohammad Syffyan Ahmed were the organizers of this program.

During this event six competition programs including projects exhibitions were held in which universities, colleges and schools students took part enthusiastically. According to the decision announced by the Judges, Yasin Mustufa and Moosa got first position in quiz contest program BUZZ while Assadullah and Danish declared runner’s up of the same University. In speed wiring competition Program CIRCUITRIX Baherya University students A. Awais Munir and Junaid Danish obtained first position while students of Indus University Monir and Hamza stood on second position.

At Line Following Robots program, Race through, Maze Robot event was won by Team Roba Mears of PAF (KIET) students while second position shared by Syed Mustufa Hussain of MAJU. Ali Johar of MAJU and team Delta of PAF (KITE) got first and second position respectively in LFR Robots race. In speed programming competition event first position was snatched by M.Shabbir Abbas and John Abbas Jaffery of MAJU while runner’s up were declared Abdul Wahab and Idress Saifuddin of the same University.

In projects exhibitions competition program Science World Senior, home security project of Noman Sarwar of MAJU was declared number one and Tesla Coil project of M.Waris, M.Saad and Musaddiq Husain shah of the same university got second position.

Science World Junior projects exhibition in which School and Colleges student participated all the two prizes won by the students of DA-Model High School. Project Solar City of Minhal Khan declared number one and Project of Dua Malbani on Mechanism of human ear remained on second position. Later on chief guest Prof. Dr. Zubair Shaikh distributed certificates and cash awards to the winners of the competitions and organizers.
