Karachi, May 02, 2018 (PPI-OT): President, Mohammad Ali Jinnah University, Karachi (MAJU) Prof. Dr. Zubair Shaikh said that we are fully focusing on providing objective education to our students, to provide opportunity to participate in healthy extra curriculum activities and to develop high moral values among them to provide useful youths to the society. He said that MAJU is emerging a fastest growing university in the region which also has been admitted by Higher Education Commission, (HEC) Pakistan Council of Science and Technology, Sindh Higher Education Commission, Computing Society, ACCA and Charter Inspection Committee of Government of Sindh, which has declared MAJU as one of the best University in Sindh.
This he stated while he was addressing to the students and their parents at Scholarships distribution ceremony at university auditorium, last evening. The scholarships to the students of BBA, BS, MBA, MS, MCS and Ph D were awarded on the basis of obtaining highest CGPA during examinations. Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences, Prof. Dr. Kamran Azim, Associate Dean, Computing and Engineering, Dr. Asim Imdad, Associate Dean, Business Administration and Social Sciences, Dr Shoat Mubarak and other senior faculty members were also present on this occasion.
Addressing to the gathering, Dr. Zubair Shaikh said instructions being given by HEC for overall improvement in educational activities are being followed strictly. He told that all our degree programs have already been approved by HEC. He told that expansion in university premises is underway and we are planning to launch new degree programs of BS-Media Science, BE-Civil Engineering, D Pharmacy and BS-Biotechnology sometime in next year. He told that we are also expanding our faculty and peoples having industry experience are being inducting on priority basis. He further said that at present we have above 20 Ph D scholars in our faculty and 10 to 15 more will be join this year.
Dr. Zubair Shaikh said that in order to bring our standard of education at par with international standard, we have signed MOUs with the universities of USA, UK, Turkey, Malaysia and other countries to collaborate in education and research activities. He said that as a result of signing of these MOUs our students will be in a position to continue their study in foreign universities by paying their fees at MAJU. He expressed his satisfaction on declaring two MAJU professors as Productive Scientists by Pakistan Council of Science and Technology recently. He also congratulated four MAJU engineering department students for achieving first and third positions in Interuniversity Engineering projects competitions exhibition.
