Mohammad Ali Jinnah University joined International Computing Association

Karachi, November 03, 2017 (PPI-OT):Association of Computing Machinery International (ACM) students chapter at Mohammad Ali Jinnah University, (MAJU) Karachi established at a colourful ceremony held at University campus last evening. Associate Professor, DHA Sufa University, Dr. Tafseer Ahmed was the chief guest of the inaugural session. Chairperson, IBA students, ACM Chapter Ehson Tahir, Vice Chairperson Zara Hussaini, Director Academics, MAJU Dr. Imran Jami, head of Computer Science department, Dr. Shoukat Wasi and other senior faculty members and students were also present on this occasion.

It may be mentioned here that The Association of Computing Machinery, is an international learned society for computing. It was founded in the year 1947 and is the world largest scientific and educational computing society. It is a not-for-profit professional membership group and have more than one lac members all over the world. Its headquarters are in New York, USA. The ACM is an umbrella organization for academic and Scholarly interests in computer science.

Its motto is “Advancing Computer as a science and profession”. Meanwhile the head of ACM, MAJU Students chapter Mohammad Yaseen said that we are organizing academics programs and computing competitions in collaboration with ACM International. He said that the basic objective of the establishing ACM, MAJU students chapter is to promote computer science education among our young students. He said that our students are fully capable to show something extra ordinary in the field of computer science to bring a good name for the country as well as globally also.
