Medical centre keen to cater medical needs: PMO 

Islamabad, October 14, 2021 (PPI-OT):Dr. Khalil Ur Rehman, Principle Medical Officer (PMO) has said that as per vision of H.E. Dr. Hathal Hamoud Alotaibi, President, team of medical centre is striving to further improve medical facilities. A number of collaborations have been initiated to cater the medical needs as well as steps being taken to establish a well-equipped medical center.

Informing about the medical centre, Dr. Khalil ur Rehman said that there are three Medical Centers (two in male and one in female campus) which are providing basic healthcare services to all students, teaching and non-teaching community of the university at new camps. He added that medical consultation, emergency management at initial stage and baseline lab facilities including ambulance services are the basic facilities which are being provided here.

He said the medical center is keen to arrange medical awareness seminars, blood donation camps and eye camps. He furthered that special Covid-19 screening (PCR) camps for male and female students and officials of the university were arranged to vaccinate all of the population of IIUI.

Chief Medical Officer told that Medical Center of the University has also signed Memorandum of Understandings (MoU’s) with renowned diagnostic centers and laboratories in twin cities and presently approximately the university fraternity is availing 15 to 35 percent discount during lab tests from Islamabad Diagnostics Center (IDC), Advanced Diagnostics Center (ADC), Excel Lab, Fatima Lab, Islamabad, Ibn-e-Sena Lab, Rawalpindi, Temar Diagnostics, Rawalpindi.

He told that recently, medical center of the university has signed MoU with Margal Diagnostics Center (MDC), Islamabad according to agreement (MDC) has offered discounted lab test rates and additional services which will be provided by the diagnostics center to the IIUI community not only at diagnostics center as well as at MEDICSI, Islamabad. Moreover, he said that (MDC) has also offered a vaccination facility of China Vaccine for Covid-19 on priority basis for university fraternity free of cost facing no long queues.
