Maulana Fazlur Rehman demand of Prime Minister Imran Khan to resign unconstitutional and undemocratic, the nation has given him 5 years mandate: Ch Parvez Elahi

Lahore, November 02, 2019 (PPI-OT): Speaker Punjab Assembly Ch Parvez Elahi has said that making the institutions controversial for realizing political objectives tantamount to playing with national security, by dragging the army in the fight Maulana Fazlur Rehman is not doing any service to democracy, now that an explanation has also come from the army it will be better if the Maulana retracts his statement.

Talking to the media here today (Saturday), Ch Parvez Elahi said that Maulana Fazlur Rehman should not forget that because only due to the government’s reconciliation policy his caravan has entered Islamabad, if the Reconciliation Committee was in between then the Maulana’s men would not have been allowed to enter the federal capital, this saying by the Maulana that after two days he will not be able to control his people is also not appropriate because keeping his people under control is his responsibility, the agreement must be honoured.

Ch Parvez Elahi said that Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s demand of Prime Minister Imran Khan is also unconstitutional as well as undemocratic, the nation has given Imran Khan mandate for five years, he has the right to complete his tenure like N-League and Peoples Party, which are standing left and right of the Maulana, have completed their terms, the Maulana had never made such a demand of them. He said that with the same spirit with which he had respected the electoral mandate of Peoples Party and N-League, now should also respect the mandate of Imran Khan with the same spirit.
