Massive protests would start if the government failed to expose the criminals behind the tragedies of Chunian incidents

Lahore, September 19, 2019 (PPI-OT): Jamaat-e-Islami chief Sirajul Haq has issued warning to the government to arrest culprits involved in Chunian incidents within 48 hours or get ready to face the wrath of the people. Talking to journalists after visiting the families of the five children who were raped and killed in different incidents in Chunian, he said massive protests would start if the government failed to expose the criminals behind the tragedies.

Senator Siraj formed the two committees led by JI Central Punjab head Javid Kasuri and Barrister Ali Dogar and ensured full moral support to the families of the victims. He demanded the Chief Justice of Pakistan take action against incidents to ensure speedy justice to the families. He said the Chunian tragedies were not the first to come to the limelight but people witnessed many such barbaric acts in near past.

However, he regretted, the past and present rulers badly failed to provide justice and ensure protection to the public. He said the school going children were no more safe in the society and parents were worried about their future. It was matter of utter shame and regret that entire police were deployed on VVIP security and poor were left on mercy of the criminals.

The PTI government, he said, which called itself an agent of change was badly exposed as it continued all the traditions adopted by the past rulers. He said there was 32 percent increase in incidents of kidnapping and rape besides there was no check in corruption, lawlessness and other crimes. The system was inching towards anarchy as the rulers were failed to address the common man problems, he said. Siraj also submitted a condemn-motion in the Senate about the incidents.
