Lahore, December 19, 2018 (PPI-OT): The School of Humanities and Social Sciences of Information Technology University the Punjab (ITU) is launching the SDGs Tech Lab in collaboration with UNDP Pakistan at 3rd floor Auditorium Arfa Software Technology Park on December 20, (Thursday) at 2 p.m. in order to develop and test innovative ideas and tools that could leverage Information and Communication Technologies in the implementation and timely completion of the key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Pakistan.
The long term objective of the SDGs Tech Lab is to conduct cutting edge research on the use of technology in solving various socio-economic problems in the country which are central to the global SDGs agenda.
The Launch Ceremony of SDGs Tech Lab include distinguished guests and speakers Dr. Akmal Hussain (Distinguished Professor and Dean, School of Humanities and Social Science, ITU), Dr. Izza Aftab (Chairperson, Department of Economics, ITU), Dr. Umar Saif (Chair holder, UNESCO Chair for ICTD in Pakistan), Mr. Ignacio Artaza (Country Director, UNDP Pakistan), Ms. Lina Mousa (Representative, UNFPA Pakistan) and Mr. Umer Malik (Program Analyst, UNDP Pakistan).
