Lahore, June 30, 2022 (PPI-OT):Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has consulted PTI chairman Imran Khan and senior party leadership on the video link and the legal team after the decision of the Lahore High Court against the election of the Punjab Chief Minister. It was decided that the decision of the Lahore High Court will be appealed to the Supreme Court and the next political and legal strategy will be worked out in consultation.
The meeting was attended by Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Senator Ali Zafar Advocate, Moonis Elahi, Asad Umar, Dr Babar Awan, Fawad Ch, Omar Sarfraz Cheema, Amir Kayani, Faisal Chaudhry Advocate, Muhammad Basharat Raja, Samsam Bukhari, Ghazanfar Abbas Cheena, Hussain Jehanian Gardezi, Hafiz Ammar Yasir and senior lawyers were present.
It was decided in the meeting that the decision of the Lahore High Court will be appealed to the Supreme Court for which the preparation of a legal petition has been started. During the meeting, it was briefed that five members of PTI have gone for Hajj, six members are abroad for necessary work. Besides, despite the order of Lahore High Court, the Election Commission has not yet notified five members of PTI. It was agreed in the meeting that there are many constitutional and legal ambiguities in the decision of the Lahore High Court, legal points will be placed before the Supreme Court.
