Josh paid tremendous tribute at Rawalpindi Arts Council

Rawalpindi, December 06, 2018 (PPI-OT): The Josh Adabi Foundation and Josh Memorial Committee in collaboration with Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) organized a Literary Conference here on Wednesday to mark 124th birth anniversary of the revolutionary poet, Josh Malihabadi. Renowned scholar Dr. Ghazanfar Mehdi presided over the conference while famous fiction writer Hameed Shahid was chief guest.

Addressing on the occasion Dr. Ghazanfar Mehdi said that the poetry of Josh had a vital place in Urdu literature. It was need of the time to promote literary work of the revolutionary poet. Hameed Shahid addressing the participants said, Josh was a poet of nature and due to his revolutionary ideas, he became famous forever. More research work on his poetry should be initiated which was the need of time, he added.

Farrukh Jamal grandson of Josh Malihabadi said that name of Josh would be prominent in Urdu till end of this world. Tabbasum Ikhlaq granddaughter of Josh also threw light on the life and work of Josh Malihabad. Later, a mehfil-e-mushaira was also held in which poets Naseem-e-Sahar, Wafa Chisti, Hassan Abbas Raza, Maeed Malik, Arshad Malik, Abdul Qadir Tabban and others paid tribute to Josh Malihabad through their poetry.
