JI ex members of parliament call upon United Nations to arrange plebiscite in Kashmir

Lahore, February 07, 2019 (PPI-OT): Former members of the Parliament belonging to the Jamaat e Islami, have called upon the United Nations to arrange plebiscite in Kashmir in the light of its several resolutions following the example of East Timor and South Sudan. A resolution to this effect was unanimously adopted at a special meeting of the JI ex members of parliament. These included Sahibzada Haroon Rashid, Dr Farid Ahmed Piracha, Zamurad Khan, Ch. Nazir Ahmed Khan, Ch. Javed Iqbal Cheema, Muhammad Usman Khan and Begum Ayesha Syed.

The resolution was moved by Dr Farid Ahmed Piracha. The meeting strongly condemned the brutalities of the Indian occupation forces on the Kashmiris and expressed complete solidarity with them. It noted that the occupation army had deprived around ten thousand Kashmiri children and youth by firing pellets on them. The meeting saluted the brace Kashmiris for continuing their freedom struggle despite all odds.
