Lahore, March 18, 2019 (PPI-OT): The announcement of the new Ameer of the Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan will be made on March 21, in the afternoon. Chief of the JI Election Commission, Asadullah Bhutto, will announce the result of the election of the JI Ameer along with necessary details, at a press conference at Mansoora, in the presence of the other members of the election body.
Information Secretary of the JIP, Qaisar Sharif, in a statement here, said that the JI Election Commission headed by Asadullah Bhutto had issued ballot papers to 39,124 JI members (Arakan) all over the country. These included male as well as female members. The last date of the receipt of the ballot papers was Mach 5. The five year term of the present JI Ameer was ending on April eight.
According to the previous practice, the JI Central Shoora had recommended three names for the Ameer for guidance of the Arakan. These included Senator Sirajul Haq, Liaqat Baloch and Prof. Muhammad Ibrahim. However, according to the JI constitution, the Arakan were free to name any other RUKN for of top office of the party. The counting of votes was still going on. The Election body of the JI included Asadullah Bhutto, Dr Syed Waseem Akhtar, Muhammad Hussain Mehanti, Maulana Abdul Haque Hashmi and Bilal Qudrat Butt.
