Inauguration of Pictorial and Calligraphy exhibition at Hakra Art Gallery on the occasion of “Jashn-e-Khudi”

Bahawalpur, November 03, 2022 (PPI-OT): Allama Dr Muhammad Iqbal was primarily a poet. Everyone can derive their demands from his poetry. Prof. Dr. Javed Hasan Chandio expressed these views while inaugurating the photo and calligraphy exhibition during the ten-day celebration of Iqbal Day. He said that according to the vision of Vice Chancellor Engineer Professor Dr. Athar Mehboob, the Department of Iqbal Studies was established to highlight Allama Iqbal’s poetry at the global level. The 10-day self-celebration celebrations in collaboration with the Department of Iqbaliyat and Bahawalpur Arts Council began with an exhibition of paintings and calligraphy. Prof. Dr. Javed Hassan Chandio Dean Faculty of Arts and Languages inaugurated the exhibition at Hakra Art Gallery. On this occasion, Chairman of Iqbaliyaat Department, Dr. Muhammad Rafiqul Islam, Sajjad Hussain, Director of Arts Council, Bahawalpur, Farjad Faiz College. of Fine Arts and Design and teachers were present. Allama Iqbal’s photographs were placed in the first part of the exhibition. From the beginning to the last days, the life of Allama Dr. Muhammad Iqbal was presented through pictures.

Some rare photographs were appreciated by the chief guest. Iqbal’s philosophy of self was presented in calligraphy and paintings. The guests and students expressed their interest in the works of art created in different mediums. A long portrait of Allama Iqbal, which was assembled from various pieces. On this occasion, manuscripts of Allama Iqbal’s speech were also exhibited, which Allama Muhammad Hasan had personally prepared due to non-availability. Researchers were interested in this pattern of cardiovascular involvement in Bahawalpur state.

The artworks exhibited were based on art, textiles and calligraphy. Dr. Muhammad Rafiqul Islam, Chairman of the Department of Iqbaliyat, said that in these events, students from school to university level participated. The opportunity has been given so that they can play their role in national development by becoming aware of the understanding of the philosophy of self. This exhibition will continue for ten days, in which the life and teachings of Allama Dr. Muhammad Iqbal have been highlighted.
