Bahawalpur, November 12, 2022 (PPI-OT):Directorate of Public Relations, Islamia University Bahawalpur In collaboration with the Dikshinu Alumni Bahawalpur Chapter and the Directorate of Alumni Affairs, Islamia University Bahawalpur, a Dikshinu Alumni Night was organized at Wasib Banquet Hall. On this occasion, Vice Chancellor Islamia University Bahawalpur Engineer Professor Dr. Athar Mehboob was the chief guest and Regional Police Officer Munir Ahmad Zia Rao was the guest of honour. Eminent artist Firdous Jamal, Hina Dilmoor, media expert Mehboob Chaudhry, eminent script writer Ali Moin participated in the event.
Vice-Chancellor Islamia University Bahawalpur Engineer Professor Dr. Athar Mehboob while thanking all the distinguished guests present at the event said that the alumni network is being further strengthened so that the alumni relationship with the university can be further improved. He said that the Muslims of the subcontinent laid the foundation of Jamia Islamia for the awareness of knowledge, struggle for knowledge on scientific basis. Muslims of the subcontinent which belonged to the British for 2 centuries living in slavery, they developed an anxiety and anxiety because their identity was disappearing. In response to this, the movement that was launched was the strongest in the education consciousness.
Colleges and schools were established in different cities. The link of the same chain came into existence in the form of Jamia Islamia which was founded by Nawab Sarsadiq Muhammad Khan Abbasi V and the most modern sciences of that time were taught. This institution continued to grow towards its destination and in 1975 it was given the status of General Public University where students are being taught modern sciences. 90% of the world’s sciences are taught in Islamia University Bahawalpur so that it continues to play its role in the socio-economic development of the region. We are facing challenges like climate change, problems facing agriculture sector, resettlement of Cholistan, food security. Our graduates are future leaders with leadership skills and them making their place in various institutions using the skills.
A training program for 2500 teachers was started in Islamia University Bahawalpur a few months ago, in which teachers were given training regarding the modern curriculum so that they can teach the students better. Apart from this, we have also added new curriculum in which we have established the Department of Quranic Studies in the Islamic Learning Department in which the students learn and teach the religion in a better way. Regarding the future, we have a responsibility to provide a better environment for our children, so it is important to train them better so that they can play their role in the society by improving their skills and this can only happen when we will get knowledge.
Masood Saber, the head of the Alumni Association, while welcoming the Alumni, said that thousands of graduating students of Islamia University Bahawalpur are intellectually mothers. Are attached to knowledge and desire its growth and well-being. Vice-Chancellor Islamia University Bahawalpur Engineer Professor Dr. Athar Mehboob has exposed Jamia Islamia to new heights of development and today this university is known globally. University Alumni are connected through social media networks and various events through events organized by the Thinkers Alumni.
On this occasion, Masood Saber informed about various celebrations and events till November 9 next year. Director Alumni Affairs Dr. Azhar Hussain said that more than 18,000 alumni have been registered through the Alumni Network so far. The first Alumni Dinner has been organized under the patronage of the Vice-Chancellor and the special support of Masood Saber, in collaboration with the Alumni.
