Haris and Wasim all set to unleash their talent

Islamabad, September 12, 2021 (PPI-OT):Mohammad Wasim Jnr. and Mohammad Haris are eager to showcase their skill and talent whenever they get an opportunity in the series against New Zealand.

New Zealand who are touring Pakistan after 18 years reached Islamabad on Saturday to feature in the three ODI and five T20I series. The three ODIs will be played at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi on 17, 19 and 21 September.

While talking to the media via videoconference call yesterday, the wicketkeeper-batsman Haris said: “I am doing practice sessions with Mohammad Rizwan – regular member of the squad. The atmosphere of the team is very good and I am learning a lot from the senior players.”

Haris who has featured for Pakistan in the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup in 2020 started his cricket from Peshawar. “In my area – Mushtarzai near to FATA, the facilities were not up to the mark so I migrated to Peshawar and started playing there.”

“I will try not only to make the most of the chance to represent my country, but also cement my place in the team with my performances.” He said he was working to improve his hard hitting abilities.

Right-arm pacer Wasim who also played the U19 World Cup in South Africa alongside Haris, has so far represented Pakistan in four T20Is.

Wasim is learning a great deal from Abdul Razzaq, who is part of the team management for New Zealand series.

Wasim said, “I have worked a lot with Abdul Razzaq in the domestic cricket. I am working with him to improve my all-round skills. I will give my best for the team when I get to play in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.”
