Karachi, March 03, 2015 (PPI-OT): Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has demanded of the federal government and ministry of finance to ensure the implementation on EOBI’s pension scale for retired employees. In a statement issued here on Tuesday, Hafiz Naeem has expressed his deep concern over non-implementation of EOBI’s pension scale, which was fixed by the federal government at Rs6000per month in the Budget-2014.
He reiterated that the federal government in the Budget2013 had increased the pension scale from Rs3600 to Rs5000 and in the Budget2014; it has further increased the pension of the retired employees from Rs5000 to Rs6000 per month.
However, he regretted that the implementation on EOBI’s pension scale has not yet made despite the passing two years of time and the retired government employees are still getting monthly pension at the rate of Rs3600 per month. Hafiz Naeem termed it a sheer injustice with the retired employees including a large numbers of elderly women.
He further said that the apathy of the authorities concerned in this regard compels the retired employees to spend their lives in tremendous miseries. Hafiz Naeem demanded of the government authorities to take stern notice of the said situation and ensure early resolution of the prevailing issue.
