Government College University launches new literary magazine “The Quaid”

Lahore, May 11, 2018 (PPI-OT): The Government College University Lahore Quaid e Azam Hostel (GCU-QAH) has launched a literary magazine “The Quaid” at its silver jubilee celebrations. Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Hassan Amir, QAH Warden Prof Dr Ahmad Adnan and Superintendent Dr. M. Nouman Sarwar Qureshi cut the cake of the hostel’s silver jubilee at the annual dinner along with the students, and they also unveiled the first edition of “The Quaid”.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Nouman Qureshi proudly said that QAH had served as home away from home for many toppers, bureaucrats, army officers, entrepreneurs and poets over the last three decades. He said that the hostel arranged different in-house cultural, co-curricular and sports activities every year for the character-building and personality development of its boarders.

He said that the main objective of the “The Quaid” was to explore and bring out literary talent among the students and promote hostels cultural activities. Vice Chancellor Professor Hassan Shah lauded the publication of The Quaid, saying that the magazine would serve to focus attention on the literary and cultural life of the QAH and provides the boarders with a medium of self-expression.
