Peshawar, May 14, 2019 (PPI-OT): Project Topi, a students’ society of Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, organized a one-day free blood donation camp at the campus with the collaboration of the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, Peshawar.
Project Topi is a welfare body that organizes many welfare activities and one of them is organizing the blood donation camps. The blood donated by students would be used for saving lives of cancer patients at the SKMCH and RC. The SKMCH and RC team comprised f two doctors and six paramedical staff. A total 108 volunteer students have donated blood. In the appreciation letter Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital officials acknowledge the work and write. “We would like to express our gratitude for your kind support in organizing the blood donation camp at your prestigious institution (GIK Institute).”
They further said that the blood collected will be utilized to help save lives of cancer patients being treated at the SKMCH and RC. We really appreciate the efforts of “Project Topi Blood Donor Society members Mr. Fareed Arshad (President), Mr. Abu Zar (Vice-President), Mr. Ali Khalid (General Secretary), Mr. Danish (Student ambassador SKMCH and RC)”and their full team for their support. They further stated that without Project Topi team inspiring behavior and motivation, it was difficult to arrange the donation camp successfully.
Engr. Jehangir Bashar, Rector GIK Institute and other officials said that arranging blood donation camp has become a regular feature of Topi Project. It has also arranged numerous welfare activities every year. He lauded students’ efforts for the worthy cause. The voluntary blood donation is very great contribution in saving lives.
