Gas: 68% Pakistanis claim their gas bill has increased substantially this month as compared to the previous month: Survey

Islamabad, April 23, 2019 (PPI-OT): According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, 68% Pakistanis claim that their gas bill has increased substantially this month as compared to the previous month.

 

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “How much has the gas bill increased this month as compared to the previous month?” In response, 32% said that it has increased a great deal, 36% said it has increased more than is deemed appropriate, 18% said there has been an appropriate increase, 6% said it has increased very little and 2% said there has been no increase at all. 6% said that they did not know or did not wish to respond.

 

Question: “How much has the gas bill increased this month as compared to the previous month?”

 

The study was released by Gilani Research Foundation and carried out by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 1,178 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during 23 February – 03 March, 2019. The error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 percent at the 95% confidence level.
