Bahawalpur, November 15, 2022 (PPI-OT):Islamia University Bahawalpur has been inaugurated. A modern style library was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Islamia University Bahawalpur Engineer Prof. Dr. Athar Mehboob and Dean Faculty of Arts and Languages Prof. Dr. Javed Hasan Chandio in Mehrab Wala, a suburb of Ahmedpur Sharqiya. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chancellor Islamia University Bahawalpur Engineer Professor Dr. Athar Mehboob said that late Zafar Lashari dedicated his life to knowledge and literature.
The up-gradation and construction of this 40-year-old library is certainly a great academic and literary asset for the region. The sons of the late Zafar Lashari, the first novelist in the Saraiki language, have carried forward the efforts of their father in the form of this library today. The tree planted by Zafar Lashari is now a Tanwar tree, the fruit of which will be available to everyone. Speaking at the ceremony, Dean Faculty of Arts and Languages Prof. Dr. Javed Hassan Chandio said that today many eminent There are writers, poets, prose writers who learned to write from Zafar Lashari.
Zafar Lashari Research Library is certainly a proof that this town and its Meccas are fond of knowledge and literature. A large number of professors of Islamia University Bahawalpur, writers, poets and people from different walks of life participated in the event. On behalf of the organizer of the ceremony, the lecturer of Saraiki Department, Athar Lashari, the guests were also presented a gift of Saraiki Ajrak.
