Electrical Engineering students publish a book on the fundamentals of Cloud Computing

Lahore, October 28, 2022 (PPI-OT):The 90s invention of Cloud Computing involves the use of a network based on remote servers hosted on the internet to store, manage, and process data, rather than a local server or a personal computer. All the intricacies of this Cloud Technology have been brought to light by the three students from Electrical Engineering students at UOL.

Miss Rabia Farheen, Mr. Sheikh Muhammad Ibrahim, and Mr. Syed Muhammad Salman Raza Bukhari authored the book encompassing the Fundamentals of AWS, GCP, and Azure Cloud Technology, which is available on Amazon, Google, and Microsoft.

This 130-page book, split into five chapters, aptly highlights the late 90s invention of cloud technology, its working principles, merits, demerits, and information about the tech companies that provide their services in this regard. This book gives its readers the basic understanding of the Internet of Things (IoT) along with cloud computing. Moreover, it provides information about Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services, as well as their advantages, virtual infrastructure, and virtual machines.

While commending this effort, Dr. Ghulam Abbas (HoD, Electrical Engineering) quoted Nelson Mandela who said: “It is always impossible until it is done”. Further, he said that by publishing their book on the international market, Mr. Ibrahim, Miss Farheen, and Mr. Salman have proven this. Dr. Abbas lauded the students for setting an example for their juniors by being devoted to their engineering studies. “Their dedication to authoring books has demonstrated that anything is achievable if done with passion. We wish them the best of luck in the future”, he added.

Ms. Farheen, Mr. Ibrahim, and Mr. Bukhari, inspired by their passion for technology, drafted this book, which, according to them, will prove helpful for students who are interested in technical studies of cloud computing, IoT, and engineering. Publication of this book depicts how students at UOL are keenly researching modern technology and how these young technological brains are gearing up to put their theories to the test in order to reinvent society.
