Lahore, July 04, 2018 (PPI-OT): Addressing a gathering in PECHS area of the NA 244 Constituency, PMLN candidate Dr. Miftah Ismail put great emphasis on the need of education and on the current condition of Karachi’s educational institutions, needed special care. He stressed the fact that education is the basic right of every child, but our children are deprived of it, “no child should left behind”, he quoted. While talking on the subject, he referred to the older generation who achieved greatness in life due to the education, but our children are being deprived of even basic education.
He gave example of Japan on how with so few resources it has become economic power mainly due to education, and if Pakistan wants to become a successful developed nation we have improve Pakistan’s education sector. He emphasized that we have to improve the condition of educational institutions, train the teachers, and bring the children to schools. He warned the crowd that if we not pay attention to the education, the society will lose on mores, values, and culture.
While discussing the importance of education he also mentioned that due to the stress on parents about the run down conditions of the educational institutions, coupled with exorbitant fees of the private schools, parents are reluctant to send their children to school. Especially the exorbitant amount of private schools fee has made education out of the reach of average income earning parent, he further emphasized.
PMLN in its manifesto earmarked the education as the top priority, he said. He further said that the manifesto contains special reference to increase the standard of education, make current educational institutions more effective, and build new schools and colleges. He further said that according to the PMLN manifesto, the party has planned to keep the private schools fees at affordable level and will curb the exponential increase in the fees. He emphasized to the people present that PMLN firmly believes that education is the only way for Pakistan to attain economic glory, and it will guarantee the success this country needs so badly. “We have to provide good and affordable education to the new generation,” Dr. Miftah Ismail stressed.
