E-Governance will be introduced for Sindh Government Departments

Karachi, February 10, 2019 (PPI-OT): Sindh Minister for Information Science and Technology, Nawabzada Muhammad Taimur Talpur said that on the directives of PPP Chairman, Bilawal Bhutto Zardar E-Governance is being introduce for official work to replace paper work with online system which will help us to curb mismanagement and corruption from government departments. Besides, constitution of a Information Technology board is under way in which President, M.A.Jinnah University, Prof. Dr. Zubair Shaikh and other scholars and IT professional will be included.

This he stated while he was addressing as chief guest at the closing session of three days long international conference on Data Science, last evening. The conference was organized by Computer Science and Engineering Faculty, Mohammad Ali Jinnah University, Karachi (MAJU) at University auditorium. President, MAJU Prof. Dr. Zubair Shaikh, Associate Deans, Dr. Asim Imdad and Dr. Shujaat Mubarak, computer science department, head Dr. Shoukat Wasi and Conference coordinator, Dr. Tafseer Ahmad also addressed to the closing session of the conference.

Addressing to the conference, Nawabzada Muhammad Taimur Talpur said that at this occasion he would like to stress upon the vision of the late Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and PPP Chairman, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari that was fundamental to the growth of private sector universities. He said it is our responsibility to give credit to our scholars and scientists that have inhabited these Alma meters and made them centers of excellence. He said that he is very impressed by the way President, MAJU Dr. Zubair Shaikh has presented about the contribution which Mohammad Ali Jinnah University is making for the society at large and for province of Sindh.

He emphasized that we need Dr. Zubair Sheikh and his team, help us to revolutionize the province. He told that as IT minister E-Governance is our priority, we want and already doing many reforms by bringing IT in education, health, public sector, security and other areas. Earlier addressing to the closing session of the Data Base conference, President, MAJU Prof. Dr. Zubair Shaikh said that it is a matter of great satisfaction for us that Sindh government is making every effort for the development of Information technology, economic development and poverty alleviation. He said that research work on rural development conducted in universities was also appreciated by UNO.

He said that Data Science education has now become a most important factor which works for storage of huge data related to all departments for analysis and research work. He assured all possible cooperation to ministry of Information Science and technology for the development of information technology on behalf of MAJU. Conference coordinator, Dr. Tarsier Ahmed thanked to the guests and participants of the conference to make it a success. He told that we have started our preparation for conducting this conference six month earlier; a technical committee consists on 22 experts from national and international universities was constituted which on receipt of 77 research papers cleared 18 papers for the conference after their scrutiny.
